INCOMING - my second Seiko?

Wait, what? Yes, you read that correctly. I'm after my second Seiko.

Over the weekend, I ordered an SSC667. I loved the colors that Gulf or Martini Racing. The blue face is a neat touch. And because I can't have just one of something, it will be a part of the collection. It arrives tomorrow. I'm stoked.

If you're curious, there's a thread here, but I can't yet post links. The price listed there is still about what you'll find now. A great deal for a neat looking watch.

I digress.

My attention is now turned to the SSC081 Prospex Adventure-Solar.

I can't yet post a picture or links, so text it is for now...

A bit of interwebbing tells me that the strap quality isn't great, but that's not a show-stopper as that's easy to remedy. I dig it because of the big numerals at the poles, the chronograph elements to it, the complications overlaying the numerals, and that it's a solar watch - I don't yet own one.

it can be found on Amazon for $346 and elsewhere for less, though not sure about the legitimacy of other sites.

I ran a quick search here and didn't see much on it. With it being a Prospex, it must share parts, movements, and the like with other models in the line. For you Seiko experts, what else should I know about it? Anyone have ownership experience they can share?

I found the face on the ssc617 difficult to read and I returned it. Maybe you are younger and have better eyesight.

That's good to know. Thank you. I'm near-sighted so up-close reading isn't an issue... yet.

It's HERE! The SSC667 just showed up. Everything looks legit and the watch is great!

Once I have the requisite number of posts, I'll get a picture posted.

It should pair well with the Martini Racing license plate frame on my 911 Turbo. :D
