Jubilee Bracelet

[Old Expat Beast]

What do you vintage guys think about this 1980 Jubilee? Seems in unusually good condition for nearly 40 years old. Comes with two 555 endlinks. I got it from Japan.

Looks good to me. Should have 22 links if that matters.

It’s good correct for early 80’s

You could always double check the links section by removing a screw

The clasp is probably not genuine. The end link stamping 555 looks too large for genuine end links and one part of the clasp is fake which is identified in the photo below. On genuine Rolex scroll, one loop is on the top side and the other loops from the bottom side.

If you look at my photo below which is magnified from expat's photo, you can see both loops originate on the bottom. The arrow points to the loop on the left which originates from the bottom and the loop on the right also originates from the bottom when it should originate from the top. These incorrect scroll loops are often found on the fake bracelets.

I've also attached a second photo of what the correct scrolls should look like.

When I blow up the Beasties photo, it looks like your second example. Hard to tell for sure, but I think you may have authenticated his clasp.
