Value has meaning in my decision to purchase. I try to figure out if there is an appreciating or depreciating element when I buy. If I like what I see and know it will depreciate and buy it, I am comfortable with the purchase. If I pass on that one, then I determined I don’t like it enough for the potential hit if I decide down the road to sell. I still do the same if I believe it can go up or not go down because selling privately can have big issues.

Not resale value as much as asking price ≈ true value. Even MSRP ≈ true value.
Of course, by inference that affects resale. What I mean is the inflated values being asked today for pre-owned watches means being relentless to drive a deal to true value. So I’ve paused any acquisitions except if my nearby AD gets the Daytona 500 for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
