Ghost Town

With a typhoon approaching, Des Voeux Road Central has become a ghost town. It's downright creepy

Yep, not many container ships passing by my balcony today...

(hmmm, why does that image look so "low quality". Well anyway... yes, a tad bit windy out there today)

Cheers,
Joe

Typhoon parties are a thing of the past, sadly (unless I'm just not getting invited). Probably because they (Typhoons) are almost always an anticlimax and many places stay open nowadays.

Too bad. Nothing goes better with typhoon play by play pictures than WIS GTG pictures.

Stay safe Adam. If you drop offline for a while we will know why.

Remember that 10 we had a couple of years ago? That was a bit different though. But yeah, an 8 like what we're experience at the moment, isn't really a bid deal (for most people in HK). That said, one should be smart and perhaps not go out for e.g. a run (just saw a guy out running)

Cheers,
Joe

Not sure! foot traffic seems non-existent, so they're definitely not busy

Yeah, that 10 was the strongest I've seen here since the 1980s.

Wow that's crazy. Looks like you guys are high enough to avoid something short of a Hollywood style wave.

Stay safe. Have you ever left for a typhoon warning?

Thanks.

No, we don't even bother taping up the windows any more.

I was working late that evening, and we were not allowed to leave for home before something like 5am in the morning. That drive home was a bit interesting. (branches/fallen trees everywhere together with flooded wells, etc)

I have never been asked so many times if I wanted a custom suit, copy Rolex or handbag in my life. It was much more than in Thailand. It seemed like a lot of the guys had the same business card as well.

I wish I had more time to spend in HK as it was fun. Stay safe over there guys.

Pic from hotel room.

The worst Slurpee of my life. I try to have a Slurpee in new places and Asian countries seem to love Slurpees like I do.

Stuffed crab leg, yummy!

Ladies Marketplace

View of HK Island skyline at night. It was beautiful.
