St. Augustine / Savannah - pt. 1

Parents were in town from Vegas for the week, so we took the opportunity to visit St. Augustine and Savannah over the long weekend.

Stayed at the Casa Monica in St. Augustine, a favorite city of ours here in Florida. A bit more chilly than we're used but who can say no to a dip in the 85-degree pool?!

Will post Savannah pics later!

Awesome pictures bro. We were in in Saint Augustine last March for my birthday when things got really serious with Covid. We ended up cutting our three day trip by one day and heading home. The city was starting to come into a panic about that time. I love that Fort and I could visit it 20 times without getting bored. The shopping and restaurants are awesome as well. Although I can’t believe your son went swimming. LOL. It’s freezing in Florida right now :-)

St. Simons is a cool place to check out in those parts as well. Sandwiched right in between St. Augustine and Savannah.

Did you all see Henry Flaglers face where it supposedly imprinted in the entry to Flagler college? It’s said while he was laid there for viewing and about to be taken to burial all of the windows blew open and his “spirit” voiced around the vestibule until it imprinted on this tile.

Missed this! Not a fan of ghosts, so glad we didn't stumble across it.

Nice. I was born in St. Augustine, but moved long ago when my parents divorced. We were just there last month to visit my Dad & see the "Nights of Lights" & also stayed at the Casa Monica. I wish I had checked to see if the Castillo de San Marcos was open; it was closed for Covid when we previously went in August.

Cool.

St. Augustine is the oldest city in the US. I had a screenwriter friend from there when I lived in LA in the 80s. I visited once in the 90s.

I think if I had to live in Florida that's where I'd live.

Enjoy the adventure.

Probably my favorite place in Florida as well. I spent a lot of time there as a kid. Was just there in March. Looks like a nice visit, and great pics. Very beautiful old city.

I love St Augustine. I always make sure to visit the Columbia (not as good as the one in Ybor City, but still great).

The Columbia Cafe on the riverwalk is my favorite. Especially this time of the year given the weather and outdoor seating.
