There's an irony to claiming that the watch industry is changing with the times when the big launch is handled like this. The webstream has been patchy, the opening address openly praised the concept of elitism, and this is all being mediated via a stuffy press conference tuned more to back-slapping than garnering the world's attention.

If I were a CEO of one of the exhibitors I wouldn't be at all happy about this.
