How do I spot a fake Rolex Yacht master 2?

Hi,

I am about to pull the trigger on a 2014 YM2 & I need some advice on how I can spot a fake from a genuine? Any help would be appreciated!!

I have attached some photo's of the actual watch.

#1. Vet the seller then a lot of your concerns will go away.

Hi All, Appreciate the responses. But what does Vet the seller mean? I'm actually going to have the watched verified at a Rolex Service center before I buy it. If any of you could give me advice on tell tale signs of a fake that would be much appreciated as it would save me a lot of time.

Check the rehaut to see if the engraving of the R O L E X aligns with each second marker consistently. You can also check the serial # at 6 o'clock of the rehaut and perhaps verify if it matches the watch. Test the countdown chronograph function to see if it works right (make sure you know it works). That is where I would start.

Does the watch also come with any documentation (warranty card, instruction manual, tags, bill of sale, etc.)?

Hi all, Appreciate all the responses. it's from a private seller in the Philippines, it includes all papers, box & warranty card. I've been told it's been recently serviced & under warranty for two years. Here's some more pics of the watch.

Guys, I’ve seen many Chinese made replica Rolex watches that are almost perfectly same as the real ones. Many untrained watch guys like me would easily be deceived. It would be advisable to buy from reliable sources. Check the sellers carefully.

Then there is probably little more than you can learn here with a few out of focus images.

The RSC in Manila should be able to tell you everything you need to know. If the seller refuses to have this done, no deal.

You are kidding
That watch has 365 components and is one of the most complex in the market.
It has a programmable, flyback, countdown chronograph.

Patek would struggle to make it, indeed its easier to explain "Equation of Time" than this beast
If the functions work its GENUINE -
To understand how to work it - google a YOUTUBE VIDEO

PS - its the older model, prior to 2017

Hi All,

Appreciate all the responses, I have seen the watch last saturday. It is genuine but I had it dropped off to the RSC before I buy it. This is just to make sure it isn't stolen.

If convenient, RSC Is The Best Option.

Hi All,
It is indeed genuine I had it checked at RSC in Manila. I am now a proud owner of a yacht master 2. :)

This is exactly right. No fake can replicate this movement nor the sky dwellers. Make sure the movements work completely and you are good to go. Not possible to be fake
