GMT Master II 126710 BLRO Pepsi MARK 1 Owner’s Club

While the Pepsi will undoubtedly continue on as a popular watch it occurs to me that there is a very finite group of people who share the original, slightly pastel, BLRO bezel and jubilee adorned watch we all love.

I have been on TRF for a short time so I don’t know if I’m allowed to create an “owner’s club,” but hopefully others will post and this will gain momentum. Maybe after long enough, we will have a handle on roughly how many of these bad boys are in the wild. No Mark II’s allowed! Lol.

I’m not sure there is a difference but I’ll help out here and add mine. It’s May 2018 so definitely an early one.

I love Mark 1 on the 116719 because of the more blueberry color

When you say pastel is that what your referring to?

Yes. People thought this was an internet rumor for awhile until there were enough to do side-by-side photos.
The mark I and WG pre 2019 are the lighter colors.

You don’t really need to take my word for it, just look at the pictures (some above in this thread). Are you actually trying to say there aren’t different colored bezels? Possible there’s not a distinct 1 and 2 and there is more variation than that but I have only seen the two color sets noted above.

Also is it really surprising that a company known for tons of variation in its vintage pieces and transitional references has a reference with a quirky variation?

Agree perhaps a tiny colour change now when Rolex makes these inserts they dont make them one at a time.So when they make them in batches who knows the numbers perhaps many hundreds at a time. And like most all ceramic colours in say domestic pots especially red/blue pigments, when firing at such high temperatures on one batch the next batch there could be a slight change in colors on the pots, same for ceramic inserts.Perhaps the next batch of inserts colours might change slightly again then someone on the net will proclaim a Mk3 Mk4 or Mk5.But today Rolex have only got to change a tiny font or even a screw and the internet goes mad.

I finally got to try one on and here is how I can describe the bezel.

Based on sight - Bezel was MKI
Using iPhone to take picture - Bezel looked like MKII

I don’t think anything I do or say is going to convince you otherwise if you can see the pics floating around and not admit there are different colors.
That’s really not the point though. I don’t want to have this debate again there are so many threads of it. I just wanted people to post up their pics of their MK I pepsi bezels. If they are all the same, then I guess everyone can post a picture of their Pepsi.

Someone ask a grey dealer if what they have in stock is a MK1 or MK2 and see what they say.

Have asked several. They are all saying that whatever they have is mk2 right now, unless it’s used and dated before 2019. My guess is because mk2 is the “newer” version and there were some people who didn’t like the lighter colors of the original release.

Edit - just search listings on Rolex forum. A lot of the listings have “mk[]” in the title.
