Wondering what everyone thinks about this piece? I’m a big fan of yellow gold and am kicking around trading up from my 15400. Stole this pic from the World Wide Web....

Do it. I love the YG since the vast majority of AP PM's are RG. This watch really pops and is quite unique. Unlikely to see many of these in the wild.

Lovely... though if I’m frank, I like this more in photos than on my own wrist

I have a 15400or. I keep trying YG pieces, but they never look quite right with my skin tone (to my eyes at least)

I don't know. I've always thought AP's RG was amazing, and that the yellow gold didn't quite work with the aesthetic, but the after seeing the gold jumbo and 15450BA, I'm not so sure. I'd have to see it in the metal, but in general, I think RG is the way to go with AP.

To add a slightly gratuitous wrist shot

Not the ROC, but YG

It’s awesome but don’t trade up! Buy it, you will always regret selling a great piece like the 15400.

Thanks but there is no sentimental value associated with it and I am starting to feel like I have too many watches to wear on a regular rotation.

It’s just a watch.

Now that does look rather nice! That said, when it comes to AP I prefer the RG rather than YG. I think part of it is that for some reason, and I don't know why, to me YG looks better polished than brushed.

great watch,

for some reason though, the yellow gold on AP doesn't do it for me,
the rose gold for AP is better imo

vice versa for rolex

RG for me, I'd only go YG on a Rolex with a CE bezel to tone it down a bit.

Agreed.

I love the YG Sub and am very fond of the RG ROO

big fan of the RO in yellow gold. this one no longer in the drawer, but absolutely loved the 15450BA when it was...in fact, quite missing it these days.

the 41mm in full gold bracelet is probably too much for me, but the YG and blue dial (especially in the glimmer of the grande tapisserie...not so much in the petite or mega) is absolutely stunning.
in disagreement with others, i MUCH prefer YG over RG when it comes to full bracelet for the RO.

I'm not particularly drawn to PM watches, but the blue dialed ROs look particularly nice in yellow and pink gold. I have a slight preference for the blue on yellow gold.

The Hour Glass green dial in yellow gold is also spectacular.

@tonupbklyn, that 15450BA was spectacular, and shows how well the colors work together. Looks like AP doesn't produce that model any longer, at least not without diamonds or frosted?

I wore this watch almost my entire Labor Day weekend out in Montauk, you will totally love trading up for it.

It lights up the room in the most literal sense.

If I were to get a chrono, I'd go for an RG reference. But, if you like gold, then the 15202ba in my opinion is the classiest way to do all gold.
