GMTII 116710LN Dial Issue

I was referred here by /r/watches to ask for advice regarding this dial irregularity. as can be seen in the photo, there is a white circle being scratched (?) into the dial, inside of the indices. My best guess is that something is stuck under the hour hand, and as it rotates, has been damaging the dial. I am not sure though.

I bought this watch from a grey market dealer 2 months ago. The warranty card is dated 2013.

With all AD’s in my area closed (non-essential businesses during quarantine) my questions are:

1) should I get it serviced ASAP, or is it just cosmetic?
2) should I stop winding/wearing the watch to prevent further damage?
3) will Rolex be able to replace the dial, being that this model is discontinued?

Thanks in advance for any advice you may have.

Yes, I would definitely get it serviced and would stop wearing it to prevent further damage. Can't tell if anything else is going on inside. Yes, they should be able to replace the dial.

Thanks for your quick reply. Any idea what the cost would be for the service & dial replacement?

This is what's commonly referred to as a "hand drag" mark. At some point in this watch's life, the hands were removed and not reinstalled using correct tolerances, causing contact with the dial. I would estimate a new replacement dial from one of the Rolex Service Centers to run $500-600. However, RSC will require that the movement be serviced/overhauled as well at an additional cost of ~$800, so probably approaching $1500 total. Unfortunately, smaller independent watchmakers are no longer able to order replacement dials.
