Rolex check

Anyone know if this is authentic?
What is the reference?
Also the oyster band is not original to the watch?
What to look for to see if the band is original Rolex, numbers on the band? Clasp?
Thanks in advance.

Even better question, why are you looking into the vintage rolex market if you yourself have no idea?

I think I should post this in the vintage section.

There is one essential thing you need to jump into the vintage market: a trusted seller who stands behind his products.

Another essential is some knowledge about the brand in general and its history.

My main advice is to take your time and get to know a seller as described above, especially one with whom you can speak personally and who will answer questions honestly.

In the meantime do some serious research.

And ask the seller why the date is changing at 10:22.

Needs more research before I would say it was authentic.

Some things appear very suspicious here.

These are all the images I have from the seller. Looking to buy just want to get some feedback. Things I see.
The date seems to be changing at 10.22 that does not seem normal.
The oyster is obviously not the proper vintage it should be either a riveted or folded oyster.
But the oyster still could be authentic the owner has indicated that the band was replaced by Rolex.
Does any know the reference for this watch?
Any comments?

if it's real, then most likely model 1601. Hands are not good. Dial has been poorly refinished.

They're not usually a green tint like that. More of an off-white.

Sometimes, when one has only very poor photos, it's very difficult to distinguish between a fake and watch with a repainted dial and replacement parts. But either way, it's not a watch to spend your money on.

If it's a treasured family heirloom, then that's a different story, and it would be helpful to see photos of the numbers between the lugs, the inside of the watch, etc.

With these newer photos even I can say with confidence, you can find a better watch than this, I would not buy it full stop.

Nope. Not with that un-stepped Precision dial. No way it's a 1601.
