There is really no need for established ADs to sell low, or sell at all. As long as they are not heavily leveraged, they can just wait out the crisis with limited consequences.

The small greys, well that’s a different story. Someone who has borrowed heavily for inventory, and needs the income from sales to pay the bills, well he will be squeezed more the longer this goes on. That is where I predict the blood-letting.

I wish nobody ill, however it will be very interesting to see the dynamics.
You are overstating the help the government has on offer - The help is massive but not all encompassing.

I know that, but in many cases it takes an unbearable load and makes it manageable, if not ideal. If the idea is to keep the majority moving parts of the economy solvent, it will serve its purpose.

Of course it will not be the same as if there were no crisis, but I think it would be unreasonable to expect that...

I would buy one as well. I wonder if it will happen, though.

I have got no Patek wish list I will start ticking off w prices coming down. There are some grails on my mind but they continue to be a moving target and I'd work w the AD and wait. Apart from that I could hardly resist a nice and ideally full set 3483 but there the issue is availability rather than price. In the end I am pretty happy w my small lot.

The one exception where I might get tempted by falling grey prices is the ceramic Daytona. I have never really wanted a Rolex or a Daytona specifically but I continue to be intrigued and I may have to own one to see what to make of it.

I'm guessing they purchased it very close to MSRP unless they bought it literally right before all hell broke loose.

Offer in at $56-$58 and I bet you can take it. Might say "no" today, but you'll get a call back in a week or two.

Maybe but not BN.. I bought last month 5164r January 2020 and paid $65k ask was 69/70

Any 5711 at msrp would be nice, white dial preferable but not mandatory. Not chasing the hype but wanting to replace my white dial Nautilus from the 80s which was misplaced when moving house decades ago. I refused to pay the crazy premiums so if I don't get the price, I don't need to buy it.

You’re in the same boat as I am. I’m looking for a 5711a/5712 to replace my daily of 20 years, my 5066a. Still a lovely watch, but I’m older now, and I feel the Nautilus has the same vibe, but just with a slightly more dignified gait.

Won’t change my life one iota if I do or don’t, but it’d be nice.

You just watch (pun intended). If watch market tanks enough soon you'll hear that some Fifth Ave apartment is mortgaged or for sale and Thomas will be back with a full complement of vintage and modern Pateks/Rolexes and I daresay APs? :)

I nearly cried when i had to replace the fuel tank in my carrera gt as one of 2 fuel pumps died and it only has 5.2k kms

you did not get an extended maintenance package ? that's the problem with being fake rich like us :)

Bobs Watches are offering $12k for a black dial 116500 and $14200 for the white. They were offering $17k and $19k not six weeks ago.

Wow!!! That is quick!

Only a matter of time before dealers start paying near list (maybe 2-3% above) for nauts... if they buy them at all. Same happened with vintage Daytonas and the problem is dealers offer liquidity to the market so when you have little to no liquidity prices drop quickly. Just like the bond market

Dealers will go from being “buyers” to plain market makers
