First Omega on the way - vintage 2624 with cal 283
So I guess self isolation leads to too much time on looking at watches for sale. Stumbled on this one an hour before it closed. It should be a circa 50s 2624 in 14k YG. Pretty obvious the dial is refinished (not in a great way in my mind) and the hands don’t match - being there are lume dots on the dial but not on the hands. The description says the dial is silvered but the pics look painted white. I didn’t pay much for it so may just wear it as is for awhile and see how I like it. Anyone have a good source for sorting out the dial and hands if I do decide to turn it into a bigger project? It says it was services in 2019 and is running well. I am into it for $490 plus tax. Most nice ones I see are advertised much higher so I think I can throw a little money at it and still be ok. Located in Southern Cal if there are decent sources here in OC or up in LA.
