Name on papers
How do feel about the ‘value’ of having you own name on the PP papers? I have to admit I prefer it for a piece I’m certain to keep forever. It’s that ‘halo’ effect.

Name on papers
I prefer it for sure. Stupid but I do. My preference is APs system where no name is written on anything. I don’t want others knowing my address down the line if I sell.

If you are the original owner of the watch, then yes! But if you want to add your name after buying a piece pre-owned with blank papers, then I don't think it has that much meaning.

I would rather have the watch complete at the best price. If that means used, that is fine with me. If you sell a new watch, then your name is out there. This is the reason many older watches typically do not have the papers. Strictly a matter of privacy by the original owner.

Name on papers is important to me because I don’t have them for my father’s and grandfather’s watches.

I used to think it mattered. But how many times have I taken the COA out of the safe to look at it? Zero.

Only useful in the cases where provenance is important to a future buyer if there will be a future buyer and more especially if the piece is super rare, limited to very few pieces, etc. Otherwise eh....
