Career Luxury Watches

Hi everyone!

I will be completing my Masters this year and currently looking for job. I have always wanted to enter the luxury watch industry, but I am wondering the best way to do this. In an industry as tight knit as this one, I am unsure of how successful I would be in cold emailing.

Accordingly, I am reaching out to you folks to see if anyone could be kind enough to give me an intro to any of the folks in the watch companies.

Thank you for your time

I have an high school friend of mine that started working at a local high end watch shop during summer months,he was a good friend of the son’s owner. 10 years later while he was doing a totally different thing he met a girl and moved to Switzerland with her . His past working experience landed him a job as a manager in a mid tier watch shop and i’ve heard his climbing the ladder.
You need to start from the bottom and have networks I guess,at least if you want to work in retail, otherwise join some watch making school in Switzerland and see where the path will lead you.

With a Master's degree (and you'll have to specify in what field), it seems you might be 'overqualified' to work in a retail environment.

A Marketing/Sales internship might be the first step and then you establish connections along the way.

If you're in Switzerland, I would think that there would be many sources of information available to you regarding career planning, including your university.

Would you mind sharing your degree field, just out of curiosity?

I've done my undergraduate degree at University College London studying a hybrid degree between business management & computer science. I am now studying my Master's in Management at Imperial College Business School.

Sounds like a flexible and marketable education.

Good luck!
