would you be bothered by this?

So I bought a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee last week- I thought it was leaning a little bit but of course the salesguy said it wasn't and that the concrete was probably not flat. My wife and son both noticed it this weekend so I bought it to my paint and body guy who discovered it is in fact leaning downward to the drivers side by 5/8 inch. I called the GM and he had me bring it in and its been there since. The service mgr kind of looked at me like I was crazy. Would you guys be bothered by this?

Yes, it’d certainly bother me, I’d be wondering what happened to it that I didn’t know about.

Exactly.
Not acceptable on a new car, which cost you tens of thousand of dollars...

For sure, it was also a good thing you mentioned this to your sales guy last week. Hopefully it is just a strut or shock that is the culprit, any supplier of such parts in the manufacturing process can produce faulty parts. Good luck, let us know.

Absolutely. Not uncommon for issues like this or alignment concerns to be recognized right after delivery. Speaking from this first-hand. When I called the dealership’s service department was met with the snide remark: “and you didn’t notice it during the test-drive?” Regardless, didn’t deter me from bringing car back and issue fixed under warranty.

With so many choices as to where and how to buy a car nowadays, you'd think the sales/service folks would want to make this right.

My wife spent $70K on a new F-350 to pull her horse trailer. The front passenger door didn't "sound right" to her when she closed it. It actually sounded different than the driver's door. She took it back three times as the door hinges vs the door stop were misaligned.

Stay on this and make sure they get it right.

Does it lean the other way when you sit in the passenger side?

Absolutely, and the after sales service was one of the reasons I stayed away from the Jeep I originally wanted and ended up going with an Acura MDX.

I test drove the car that I wanted at Jeep (it had 14 miles on it) but the interior was already scuffed up along the door from someone getting in and out, I mentioned this to the sales guy and he basically said it would happen anyway in daily use and to not be bothered by it. After that comment I basically shook my head and thanked him for his time, drove down the road spent a little extra money, but ended up much happier with the sales and service I received at the Acura dealership. I have already been in and out a few times adding difference accessories to my MDX and they have been top notch all the way.

I was also a bit shocked that the Jeep dealership didn't offer loaner cars which steered me away as well. Not usually a fan of sitting around a car dealership for 3-4 hours for service.

I hope Jeep fixes this one for you and it comes out perfect, I love the look of the Jeep, but was always worried about it being a Chrysler.

The gas tank on my pickup truck is located entirely on the drivers side and it leans a little bit when the tank is full. It's a well know idiosyncrasy of this model. Maybe yours has a similar situation?

Seems odd. You probably weigh more than the gas, does the truck lean when you sit in it?

Do a google search for "tacoma lean". It's a well known flaw.

Big time I’d demand a replacement period.

Since 5/8 of an inch is so little, could it be that the suspension needs to settle? maybe it was strapped down during transport? also where did they measure the height from? Also did you check tire pressure?

It would bother me such as most things in life can’t. I hate that it would, but I’d be incredibly bothered.

Sorry to hear this. Sorry you have to through it. It sucks.

Damn Chrysler. This is how they train their people.

Something similar happened to me. But once you sign, they just don’t care at all

Unacceptable - give the dealer an opportunity to make it right, but if you have to, you can lawyer up and that alone would get them to take action for you.

yeah, that would bother me. happened once to me with a Camaro. Chevy never figured it out. I took it upon myself to put a performance suspension under it to level it out and get better performance. of course not an option for you nor one you want to pursue. I'm not familiar with GC suspensions but hopefully there is some adjustment possible.

It would absolutely bother me. We like/enjoy our Jeeps but don't really care for or trust the two dealerships we work with that are convenient. We go elsewhere for non warranty work.

We love our JGC but FCA service is the worst I have ever experienced.

Ours had 10k miles on it and carpet by gas pedal wore thru. They did not cover. Even after going to corporate. Joke.

Does yours have air suspension? My Trailhawk does and I can see it being a calibration issue. Because I can manipulate the height 3” + high to low
