Help to Identifying Vintage Rolex Watch
Hello all…
I recently inherited a relative’s Rolex watch. I took it to a clock and watch repairer and he has restored it to working order using Rolex parts. It is now in perfect working order The words ROLEX OYSTER appears on the dial. As does PRECISION and SWISS MADE. I have take photos of it and have linked them to my Photobucket Account. Please click on link for further/enlarged images. http://s198.photobucket.com/albums/a...Rolex%20Watch/ He has given me a description of his findings - which I will relate on here *Rolex mechanical Winding watch *Steel Case with 14k Rose Gold *Bezel with index on bezel *Case number 639XXX (I have not included the other 3 digits as Ive noticed on your site they have been X’d out..not entirely sure of the reason..Im guessing security?) But if they are required I can give them to you. This number is located between lugs at 6 o’clock *Original Rolex dial with set of hands *17 Rubies movement My questions are as follows 1. How old is the watch? 2. What would have been its original purchase price (approximately)? 3. Does Rolex keep some type of registry as to who the original owner would have been and where it was purchased from? 4. An approximate value of what it would be worth today Thanking you all in advance and apologies if some of the questions are basic but this is all very new to me and I'm very keen to learn more about this watch as it has quite a sentimental value to me. Kind Regards Anna |
