Piece Unique Process

I have seen some beautiful piece uniques from AP. I am not referring about the pieces made to rock stars or influencers.

Anyone here in the community made such pieces? If so, can you elaborate on the process? Was there a formal application? Who at the boutique and HQs approves? How is the design developed? How long the process?

I appreciate the input.

You can find detailed Conkers story on the forums, but I think even he said that it is almost impossible to get a custom piece today...

Beside Ed, Travis, FHB latest I remember is this one... and like for Travis they put guys Instagram logo on the watch... the money was not the problem with this one, because as you can see on his Instagram, they eat and in form of Travis favorite color flush down the toilet a RO worth money every few days...

Opinions will surely vary, but in my opinion the Chronopeace Code is the best piece unique I have seen. However, if his collection sets the scale needed for a piece unique these days, we're all out of luck here.

Conkers has a cool one.

Seems like nowadays you'd have to have $5m+ in spend with AP to get one, if not more.

Thanks for the comments guys. I have posted some information on mine here in the past but I need to keep many aspects of the project confidential I am afraid. What I can share is that it took about 15 months and I worked directly with the then Head of Design and FHB. I was very lucky to be granted a unique commission and I would not get one today. There are no concrete “rules of entry”. At this level relationship is everything.

I hate to say it but as the porn guys form their own companies instead of being employed by them, the watches they wear has really gone up a notch, lots of gold Rolexes and APs on them now, they are like footballers and chefs.
