1959 6536/1

At a family event yesterday I noticed my Brother's Father-in-law wearing something interesting on his wrist. I walked over and chatted with him about it, turns out it was his Father's 1959 6536/1 Submariner. I was in AWE, beautiful piece. It had been serviced 5 years ago where the crystal was replaced and he purchased a new band for it, but asked for the originals back which he has.

I was not expecting to see something like that on a wrist there. Funny thing was he was more enamored with my Explorer I MK 1, I offered a trade, but he declined with a laugh.

I tried it on but didn't snap a picture like a dumbass, but here is a picture of what he was wearing:

He said it’s going to his son when he’s married. Jealous.

So cool to see something like that out in the wild being worn like it's a plain old sub.

I'm guessing that's not the actual 6536 he was wearing, but, rather a just a picture of the same model, yes?

Yes I foolishly didn’t take a wrist shot. If I have the opportunity again I will. It was gorgeous and looked very similar to the picture I posted.
