New bracelet or entire watch? DJ41
Hey team,
Some of you may have read my other thread about my DJ41 oyster comfort (or lack there of). Taking another link from the 6 and adding to the 12 made a huge improvement. I talked to my AD about ordering a Jubilee bracelet. It's $2,000 Canadian after tax. He said it would take 3 months to get me a new watch with jubilee if I wanted to go that route. Any thoughts from the group here on what would be best avenue? History: I had a black DJ41 with Jubilee and sold it for the blue. I felt the jubilee was a little too dressy for me. I feel a bit torn and trying to get the best overall fit and look. |

Love the Jubilee, thinking about buying a watch just to have one...

I never really thought of the jubilee as dressy. Especially if it did not have any gold in it. I would get it and try it (bracelet). You could always sell it if it didn’t work out.

Get the bracelet. That will give you two looks for the same watch. Plus you can easily unload the bracelet later if necessary.

The jubilee is sooooo comfortable, not had an Oyster to compare it with but I am very happy with my SS DJ41 on the jubilee albeit with a smooth not fluted bezel

I would buy the jubilee if you can change them back and forth. If you really have a lot of money and you want to buy them both, then buy both.

If you like your 41, order the jubilee bracelet and just switch back and forth. I’ve had a DJ Date that I bought when I was 16 with an oyster band, 8 years later I bought a jubilee bracelet for it. 40 years later the watch is still working great and a switch up the bracelets every now and then for a change!

...I remember not long ago that everyone was saying the jubilee was for women’s watches and how the oyster was the only choice. Now that Rolex has started pushing these on the new GMT, everyone just has to have one. Did I miss something? Is newer always better?

I always thought of it as the old man bracelet. I am considering going to one out of comfort and the love/hate I have with the oyster.

when i picked up mine i was hesitant as to which bracelet i preferred and ended up with the oyster. I inquired about adding a jubilee after the fact not because I'm unhappy with the oyster but simply for the extra versatility having both would offer. My AD told me that they could not order it separately?
Is this something that is openly allowed or a favor ADs offer to certain customers only?...as obviously Rolex has more to gain from selling more watches. |

I like the fluted bezel and Jubilee look. It is the classic DJ look. In the DJ41 model there is more area to reflect light so it makes it flashier than the 36mm model. My DJ41 is fluted/Jubilee and I really like it. I struggled for a while over oyster and jubilee. But I have two spot models with Oyster and sticking to the classic look I picked Jubilee and happy I did.
However, if you are going jubilee for a better fit you may not get it. Mine doesn't fit quite right on my wrist. I think it is the combination of the lug-2-lug length and the shape of my wrist. I played with moving a link to the 12 side which helped, but still not right. I wonder if I should try another link? It is very comfortable, but it may not improve the way it fits on your wrist. |

I picked up my DJ41 with a Jubilee because all of my other watches were on the Oyster bracelet. I needed to switch things up. They are all super comfortable once you get the watch to fit to your wrist shape.

That price isn't totally horrible. I'd add it and switch back and fourth a couple times a year.

The Jubilee will always feel more comfy than the oyster. Just the way the smaller links contour over your wrist.
The President and Jubilee bracelets are the BEST in the Rolex lineup imho |

I bought my DJ41 with the jubilee bracelet but I also bought a spare oyster for it a few weeks ago and both bracelets fit great and are comfortabel to wear and I like to change them from time to time.

If you can afford it get the bracelet. I wear my watches a little loose so fit is not an issue, they all feel good.

Option C
Try and source a glide lock clasp from a Sub and have the centre polished?

I've never heard such a hard time with a bracelet.
Just go rubber or leather then brother. You could do the any oysterflex model or maybe an Aquanaut. Or just put your DJ on leather. |

I think I might have a funny shaped wrist and leather or rubber has always felt so nice. I’m getting a sub that will be put on black rubber for pure comfort.
