[QUOTE=kimwizzzuuu;11394039]Bought my one and only offshore in the collection for 32k from boutique. Now I see the retail raised to 39k and you won’t be able to find one under retail in the secondary market.

This one is gorgeous

I bought a 1999 25770ST blob dial yesterday and don’t quite understand this post.
About 2 years ago I bought a ceramic bezel 44mm, regretted selling it but have noticed since then prices have only increased very slightly but for the 42mm ROO models 26470ST they have jumped significantly.
2 years ago plenty around at £10-£12000 but yesterday in Hatton garden they’re more like £15-£18000, increased at least as much as stainless steel sports Rolex models in my opinion

That's because those who used to speculate on other watches, and on crypto, have nowhere else to go, so the less (social media) desirable pieces are going to get inflated next.

None of this is good, in my opinion. Long term appreciation is good. Short term bubble value spikes is not.

Why is an RO Ceramic Openworked listing at $450k USD?

Bubble. That's why.

I can get a Greubel Forsey or a Roger Smith for that money.

AP RO Offshore's resale value doesn't quite keep up with other royal oak model, Why?

I am 6’3” 240 with a 7.25” wrist and the offshores look oversized on me. I mean you need an 8” wrist for them to look great.

But they are fun so I’ve had half a dozen or so over the years.

I think it is grey who control the market price.. back in 2010 - 2017 everybody wants ROO, RO then ROC. you know the game, u cant get only Roo. Gray also have to buy ro ,roc and others (not so popular back on those day)
and then what happen? they have a lot of 'dead' stock on the table so they change the game, increase the dead stock price by saying Hot models at the moment and sell Roo at retail

i just bought a vampire last month at AD, and did a research on a few dealers that i know, i ask them how much? all of them offer 10-15% below pricelist. well im not selling it.

It is just my opinion.
cheers

I am 5ft 10 with a 6.5 inch wrist and think the ROO 42 is the perfect size.
The way the lugs curve down fits exactly on my wrist, in my opinion it’s a mans watch suitable for any wrist 6 inches and over, it isn’t dainty or unisex like a Daytona for example

A Daytona would hang over my wife’s wrist like a 44 offshore would yours. I disagree in terms of what looks proportionate but I do prefer more classical sizing. I can understand completely if it looks and feels great to you. These are just toys and it’s not important what others think is fashionable etc
