How Are My Curmudgeons?

With what's been happening globally I have been remiss in checking on the health & welfare of my curmudgeons.
I hope you are feeling fit & curmudgeonly!
With schools remote & no kids wandering about I miss yelling at them to stay off my lawn, pull their pants up, speak clearly....
Well, off to find something or someone to hassle:)

Mostly well here. It’s been a rough 18 months. It’s making me more of a curmudgeon. Bah Humbug.

I look at it this way: When one door closes, another one opens.

I've been scolding people about masks, and how close they're standing to me.

I chucked a 21 year blue-chip career into the can for a new gig right before the pandemic hit. Guess what? Hated it! Now I'm retired and can keep the kids off my lawn until the cows come home or my heart's content, whichever comes first. How the hell do you think I am?

Oh, thanks for asking. Hope you and yours have been well too.

Doing ok I guess, still complaining about most things. My son and I had the big life event that you read about in the other thread. That's about it...

My Muse/wife and i created our own paradise.

Yesterday was the best day of our lives, we are soooo very happy together. Today looks to be the next best day of our lives, as each day it gets better and better for us... together

PS: We haven't watched broadcast TV (or their 'news') for months.
These are the happiest days of our lives, together, in love.

I realize that I'm a dinosauer and shouldn't go out in public. I don't mind kids on my lawn, especially my own. I do wish that dog walkers would clean up after their animals though, that's my pet peeve.

Great setup there Steven.. that's an oasis for sure.
.
For me, hanging in there for the most part. Been off work since last May due to the heart attack..and with a variety of tests, 'tele-med' consultations and discussions, I'm being considered for a 'trial' study of a Transcatheter Valve repair to my tricuspid valve. Weighing the pros and cons of doing it. I'm not 'sick' enough for one surgeon's approach to the repair which is open heart surgery so the transcatheter approach being less intrusive is an option but with unknown data for success and long term solution. Only 243 subjects (people) have participated in the US and EU since March2020 ..but it is new in Canada. So I'm not sure about the study or not. Things are under 'control' with meds right now..but we'll see how that goes. Kinda touch and go here...so that's on my mind often..
Other than that...life is fine at home and behind masks when we have to go out.

Hi Thomas. Sorry to hear about your heat ails. Shortly after I turned 52 I had 3 stents put in, rather than open heart. My mom, now 80, had a valve replaced via catheter about 3 years ago. In the hospital on a Monday, home that Thursday, no issues since. Amazing technology! Best wishes, etc.

Hey Larry.. Thanks for your words of encouragement...
Glad your stents did the trick for you. I had 1 stent, 3 other arteries still partially blocked but not enough for stents I am told. Glad to hear your Mom is doing well after her repair.. I'm presuming it was her left/mitral valve that was repaired via catheter...That, I've been told, has been done more frequently with more data on long term success..
The technology is amazing for sure...
Thanks again..

Besides being a curmudgeon, I am also a certified hypochondriac. Reading your posts I’m getting chest pains. But in all seriousness, I wish both of you all the health in the world.

Thanks Paul, sorry to cause any distress. FYI, we caught my blocked arteries before I was able to cause any damage to my heart. If you want to read something neat about some of our organs, google "natural by-pass." Saved my bacon.

Yeah, thanks Paul for your good wishes. I guess I wasn't lucky enough to catch the issue before damage was done to my heart. So it's crisis management now. Literally.
