indeed. it was just an interesting analysis. bitcoin will be 1 million a coin before this decade ends if it sticks around and if monetary policy continues its expansion phase.

this thread needs a bump.

ethereum is back to 3,700. 440-3,700 in a year, 8.4x. still beats a blnr.

bitcoin is back to 48,700. 11,400-48,700 in a year, 4.27x. still beats a blnr.

still hodling.

What is the end point of this contest? Bitcoin in the lead, either contestant could crash.

Came across this thread and it got me thinking "If only one can see the future"
1 Bitcoin at $48,307 and 1 BNIB 116710BLNR at $20k = 2 BNIB 116710BLNR for $40,000 and additional $8k.

what is the real eye opener for anyone that actually cares about money and the currency system is when you value/correlate assets in US dollars... Gold, stocks, real estate, Rolex... they are sky rocketing in dollar denomination.

When you denominate those exact same assets in Bitcoin... they are all Falling, precipitously.

smart money is smart...

Spending Trillions upon Trillions will do that. As will years of quant easing. USD is not alone, it's everywhere globally. Crypto is not pricing in the liquidity premium correctly though. Easy to sell in an up and up market. A 2008 mass liquidation event in Crypto though and it ends up just about worthless. Add exchange risk (though not sure why anyone would leave on exchanges) and another risk premium not properly priced. Lastly, regulatory risk and you end up with a phantom asset class in the Ponzi unit phase of the Minksy framework. That said I don't find any currencies attractive right now, fiat or similar Crypto. The PM standard is and always will be the real standard.

You just have to buy them right. The pullback in April/May was the biggest crypto buying opportunity we'll have all year. If you missed it, it's probably too late to jump in for most of the big profits (but nobody knows just how high this current push will go).

Volatility is the name of the game, and knowing when to get out is more important in crypto than just about any other asset class.

Also, gold is no longer the "real" standard, because it is not a reliable inflation hedge. It used to be, but that ended a while ago.

You bring up good points. I don't know if anything is a real inflation hedge anymore, since real inflation is out of control. CPI has been a poor representation for years, so real inflation is probably even greater. As far as the buying opportunity in Spring, my eyes see that as a manipulated pump and dump going on. Largely unregulated, market characteristics seem to display large coin holders gaming the market. I imagine many did buy up on the dip. And then we will probably see again at the next peak. Dip was largely driven by them dumping something that is not a liquid security. But of course not until after the big boys sold their crypto first did the market experience any significant downturn. Any market that is not fully transparent and does not have true marketability with its securities, is a market that I want no part of as an investor. There are no fundamentals in that type of market, so everything is emotion based trading. That latter is the worst place to ever be as an investor.

Crypto for me is legal gambling, sorta.

I am just in it for the ups and downs.

I will always leave some of my gain in the game “just in case” they shot way up for no reason. And the money I am playing with is from my gain, so I feel like I am just playing with the house money.

That’s just me.

my good people... it's ALL JUST NOISE. when you zoom out, these 'variances' are nothing more than momentary 'mean' deviations. Smooth the plot, or zoom out to get the big/macro picture of what is truthfully happening... Up and to the right!

Number go up

the biggest mistake one could have made in this deflating monetary policy market, would be to SELL...

and if you are actually a 'trader', these/this volatility is exactly what you want to arbitrage your holdings.

In my opinion, trading bitcoin is like trading the secret combination of the most secure vault which has nothing in it.

FYI, I have a bit of money invested in GBTC but I believe the true value of bitcoin is zero.

Agree- get the watch! But BTC may create more value over time. It is not the casino that some suggest, but a monetary replacement ( Costa Rica just made it its official currency). It is, however, very risky.

If both of them drop to zero, you can at least still wear and use the watch to tell the date and the time in 3 time zones.

I think it's reached a point for crypto investors (especially those who have been in the game for 4+ years) that they don't really get riled up anymore by anti-crypto sentiment. If people don't understand it or want to understand it, best of luck to them.

To quote Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin:

“If you don’t believe it or don’t get it, I don’t have the time to try to convince you, sorry.”
