It was a great review that has me really considering a Czapek. But as mentioned, the review was lost when TRF was rolled back several days because of the hack.

The original review really sparked my interest too. I hope those gorgeous pictures can be posted again so I can come back to them from time to time!

Floored with Czapek, honestly cannot say enough good things about this company. Every transaction pairs you with a concierge, the president (Xavier) is copied on all correspondence and is involved in every aspect of your purchase. The level of customer service is simply amazing.

Ordered a passage drake grey dial but had to push the delivery out (May to Sep.) and they were absolutely fantastic about it

Congrats! I'd love to be able to compare the Passage de Drake and the Terre Adelie, but with the numbers they're producing, there's virtually zero chance of ever seeing another Antarctique in the wild...

When I get around to it I'll repost, but I want to take the time to add some more thoughts, take a few more photos, so it's not just copy-paste. Bringing it back means adding value (I'm pernickety like that). |

Quick comparison with the AP RO 15500.
Case and dial. The Czapek has the edge here. It wears smaller than the RO as the lug to lug dimensions are smaller and the links dont flare as much. It feels considerably more svelte on the wrist and has almost a vintage feel despite being 40.5mm. The RO feels blockier in comparison and wears closer to a 43mm watch. In this particular configuration, the Czapek hand painted dial looks more special and more legible as well. Hands and indices are on par in terms of finishing. Bracelet. RO wins this one. Its the best bracelet in the business full stop. Finishing is on par but the articulation is better on the RO. Czapek does have a quick change system which the AP does not. Movement. Czapek has the edge here again. The movement is better designed and also better finished. Black Polished skeletonize bridges, micro beveling, platinum micro rotor. Proper haute horology i. The RO has a very solid movement but seems to be more industrial in nature and not as nicely finished. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Funny - I absolutely hate the AP bracelet. Gorgeous, yes, but the damn thing is on a mission to pluck my wrist like a chicken.

How much does the Czapek taper at the clasp?

This one does not pull my hair. Never had any other RO, so most likely they improved it with this generation. The Czapek is not far behind though and is more comfy, similar to a Rolex Oyster bracelet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Same here! Great to meet one of the other 9 Emerald Iceberg owners. This will look great next to the Terre Adelie “Secret Alloy” that should be arriving within 4-6 weeks. Czapek are well on their way.

Their dials are off the charts. Great mini series on youtube on how the Antarctique is made. A ton of hand work in the movement, case and especially the dials.
