Cartier Tank Solo discontinued?

I stopped by a prominent AD today and asked to see Tank Solo model. The lady right away said oh it's been discontinued and its been time. I said are you sure? I have never heard about it. She confirmed yes we haven't seen in months. I opened Cartier website and said you can order online right away and it shows in stock and I have never heard from anywhere that it's discontinued. She said let me check with my manager and she was trying to open Cartier site and manager told her, doesn't matter what it shows online, it is discontinued and it's been a while.

I went to another AD and tried different Cartier Tank solo and they had no clue about any discontinuation!

Not sure how can such a prominent AD and its manager has such wrong information!

Discontinuing the Tank would be like Rolex discontinuing the DateJust, or Submariner.

So I am curious about this too... with the release of the Tank Must SolarBeat, its an identical size and price replacement for the SS Tank Solo. My suspicion is that the two models can’t live side by side in the new lineup, so the factory has stopped production and the warehouses and dealers are to liquidate what they have, and will not be getting any more pieces.

It is, or has been discontinued in favor of the new Must Tanks.

Yes, the website hasn't been updated yet. The Must is supposed to replace it. That is what various reports mentioned about it. If you want a Solo, you should probably buy one now while there are still some available.

Have the Tank Must even been rolled out yet? Cartier probably still has quite a few Solo's floating around in inventory that needs to be cleared out.

Thanks both. Is there any source on this that I can read more? (Not that I’m doubting you guys, but just curious)

So the main difference is the photovoltaic dial and the strap for the classic Tank Solo…

No, Photovoltaic dial is new additional model which comes only in natural strap and doesn't need battery for 16 years.

Second model is Monochromatic color dials - Red, Blue, Green [Quartz with 8 yrs battery] in Small and Large sizes.

Third we then have regular Quartz tanks (now with 8 yrs battery) - Small & Large with both strap and bracelet (as was in solos) and then automatic XL model (in both strap and model).

Tank Solo vs Tank Must [Non-Solar, Quartz models]
