Incoming ! UrWerk UR-100 Blue Planet

Have been exploring more independents lately with all the drama / difficulty obtaining a Rolex or Patek.

My latest plunge was into the brand UrWerk. It’s a very futuristic timepiece and I’m sure not for everyone but I really like the uniqueness of the look and complication. It consists of “satellites “ that rotate around and house the hour numeral as it passes a 60 min track on the bottom of the dial.

It’s a very thin case with a domed crystal which allows you to see the complications at work. The time is super easy to read quickly at a glance (one thing I was worried about). Overall very pleased and enjoying this piece. Strap appears very well made as well.

Great choice! Urwerk are an amazing brand. This watch is certainly a great representation of how independents are running circles around established brands imho.

Stunning and truly captivating piece. People on the boards here buy 20 rollies and yet still scour the interwebs looking for the next 'grail', next 'unicorn' when brands like this and others are (and have been) producing the stuff of dreams for a while now! A timepiece that causes you to study it and learn new things/aspects about it not seen or experienced in first 5 mins of putting the thing on, is a watch that deserves the coin it eats. The orbital display on this guy is just pure fire! Enjoy and wear proud!

Congrats! Amazing piece!

I just absolutely love this way of showing time, have been looking at Urwerk myself and the Moser Flying Hours one.

Enjoy it, it's a wonderful watch.

Ok, that makes more sense. I was afraid the flippers had infiltrated the URWERK market, too!

Feels solid but the case is thin so not heavy at all. A lot of the movement is housed under the domed crystal so the case can be thinner than it normally would. Love the strap- it’s a little stiff at first but very well made and starting to conform to my wrist. Very pleased overall.

It's a great piece and wears comfortably. Highly recommended for all of the attributes Tom pointed out and the fact that it's backed by a great group of people from the top down.

Look forward to seeing your incoming soon!

No screw down crown. Up position to set the time, down position to wind.

If you really can't figure it out, they give you a secret decoder ring in the box when you buy one.

I apologize if your question was sincere, but I got few snarky comments before due to the satellite display.

In the first photo? Yes. Because of the shape of the domed crystal, it is very difficult to photograph clearly, but in general it is as easily legible as in the second picture that shows 4:40.

No worries I totally understand. I see it now. Kind of like reading a regulator once you know what to look for it’s intuitive.

I am a big fan of their work. Very unique.

Congrats!

Lovely and very wearable watch that I have on my radar as well. One thing I am not sure about is if I'd find the astronomic complications gimmicky in the long run. But the watch certainly oozes cool.
