The watch is beautiful but the 40mm version wears LARGE. Happy they also released the 36.5mm one.

Congratulations. This is special.

What a way to celebrate a 100 years old design. I love the cushion shaped case, angled dial and numerals. Then of course the platinum treatment on the dial, hands, case, down to the stiching. Big fan of the platinum sandblasted finish (I own an YM pt dial).

100 pieces to celebrate 100 years. VC really know how to treat collectors and pay tribute to historical designs. Such a cool piece!

Absolutely pristine. They did a really good job with this one.

Could it do without the Pt950? Probably, and I'd venture to say most would agree. But it's there, and it's somewhat subtle.

The Pt950 on the dial really does bother me and is probably the only reason why I'm not going for this, but I'm at least glad they put it next to the small seconds at 3. To me, that makes the most sense.

On the Traditionnelle, they have it at 4:30!

It’s a stunning watch. Does anyone know whether the white gold model is Rhodium plated or grey gold?

It's grey gold according to their French website here. They put palladium in the mix, there is no rhodium plating. For some reason they don't mention this on their US and UK websites.

From their French website:

OR GRIS

Google Translation:

GREY GOLD
White gold watches are created from one of the most valuable alloys, as it contains Palladium, a naturally white and shiny metal that is even rarer than gold. The alloy of these two metals thus provides a very clear gold with perfect hold, making it a precious ally in the design of Vacheron Constantin white gold watches.

Much appreciated alphadweller. Im seriously tempted, although l'll wait till they're available second hand though. The drop on the YG seems quite a lot.

You're welcome Ojones. I would do the same. There are great preowned prices on VC dress watches.

Congratulations! The 1921 is such a unique and gorgeous watch and this platinum version is unique with the dial finish and the applied numerals. I personally prefer the older platinum version with no PT950 on the dial and the blue painted numerals but the 100 piece limited edition aspect of yours makes yours seem more special. However, the 36.5mm pink gold version is the one for me due to its classic size and appearance. Glad you're getting good use out of yours, as these watches are meant to be worn, not to sit in vaults.

Don't be put off by the PT950 on the dial...I promise you I didn't even see it on there until you guys pointed it out...even after it didn't become a "that's all I can see now" deal...I still don't notice it.

It's an amazing piece and VC really nailed it.

Is VC still making the other platinum 1921? Seems kind of redundant to have 2 platinum 1921 watches being made at the same time along with a white gold model.

I'm glad that's the case. I considered the simple manual Traditionnelle with the platinum dial but in person the PT950 is the first thing I noticed and so it was a no go for me. If not for that, it would have been the perfect black and white tie watch for me. (Yes, I always wear a watch out.)

Great piece. Wasn’t there supposed to be a platinum with blue rAised numbers?

There's another platinum model indeed, ref 82035/000P-B168 (not the 100th anniverary from the Excellence Platine collection).

I don't see raised numerals though, they're painted by the look of it.

I believe they are raised. Do you know the reference number for that? Is it still available?

They're painted but generously, just like the Lange 1815 line.
