My thoughts is maybe one day I might drive a electric vechile but at this moment I'd like a 911. Unfortunately though I drive a silver Fiat van. Sorry can't help on the Taycan.

I love them.

If I ever go electric, that’s my direction.

One of my employees got one as a service loaner (he has a Cayman) and we went for a drive. I can only compare it to the Tesla model S and Model 3. I've owned many Porsches in the past.

It's nice. It goes fast. The handling is sharp. The electronics are great but bordering on overkill (for example, you must use the touch screen to direct the air from the vents). The ride is Porsche - firm but controlled. The interior plastic quality, fit & finish are all better than the Teslas but not up to a comparably priced German car like a BMW or Mercedes. It is faster than the Teslas.

The service loaner we had, had a nasty rattle out of the back. I would not leap at buying a first year of a new model, not even Porsche.

I didn't buy a Tesla either, as I don't think the interior materials and features justify a 6-digit price. I also suffer from range anxiety. We still don't have a good electric charging infrastructure in NC (although it is getting much better).

I looked at one. I love the look and the tech but I was cramped inside. I also was not impressed with the range for the price.

I am sure they will get better but so will the competition.

Porsche taycan

Colleague drives one. In a straight line, it will put many gas cars modded and stock to shame. Would have to drive it on a grip track day to formulate a proper opinion.

the prices on the base model taycans don't really make sense, the base taycan should start in the 60s and not 80k. the only explanation i can see for that is it would probably start stealing from their panamera sales if it was lower and they don't want that

Porsche taycan

Of the two, seems to me the shooting brake looks better.
