I’m guessing it will be the year of the submariner.

You're gonna be disappointed. Rolex is bringing the 126719RONR and 126710LN with Red GMT...though 2019 may be the year of the Submariner

The red in the RONR will be cherry red like Richard Mille's

It’s almost Fall in the Northern Hemisphere so hard to predict yet.

Rolex is waiting for the AW Series 4 to see what’s coming from the global #1 Watch company.

Hey...

To spice up the prognostication chili pot, let’s consider some trends and some curious ideas.

Trends:
I think Rolex and Tudor will continue the incremental product line segmentation. 90% probable that some endearing model will get a little tweak. Maybe new ceramic bezel insert colors for the Sub perhaps?

Curious:
Who has noticed any recent patent filings by Rolex? Or perhaps past patents that haven’t been seen in a timepiece yet? Maybe old chestnuts are in the roaster, ready to be popped out onto the desolate AD display cases...

I like this one. My guess would be this patent is for a simple annual calendar version of the SkyD. Or perhaps a new professional series watch to fit between the Sub and GMT Master

In the months prior to the Daytona C release I remember seeing ads everywhere of the TT white dial Daytona (Especially after the new deal Rolex signed with F1).

Now, I don't know about you guys but all I'm seeing these days is ads featuring the TT blue dial sub!!!

Just a thought... :)
Really good post. I thought the same thing when visiting the Rolex website/instagram. The sub is being heavily advertised which is rare for Rolex (usually they are pushing some DD or DJ as the Sports models sell themselves).

Would look good with either a ceramic, fluted, or smooth bezel

So I’d only know the current month on the 1st day using that date wheel. Can’t see the utility yet - but that could be a step towards a new DD feature where the month pops up using a command ring somehow.

Good point. It certainly would be a nice bonus feature on the DD. Perhaps even a nice touch on the next YM1 to make it even more different than the Sub. Would be fitting of its grown up image, the YM1. Perhaps a little more utility for month end and not needing to reset your date at month end for months with less than 31 days. I'd imagine the date function to now be a jumping date/month at end based on month. Ideally a quick change function like the Date. I'd take it on any of the current date only Rolex

Rolex will release a 38mm Datejust & Tudor will finally get rid of the snowflake hands so I can buy more Tudors.

Year of the sub. New action. How about an colored face with black bezel. Likewise a retro based on the original milgauss would be interesting-kind if a mini-sub

I have it from one of the Rolex PR people that the BLNR will NOT be discontinued at Basel 2019.
That said, I was told it would be a round "for a little bit longer". I'm thinking through the rest of 2019. That gives me hope.

If it’s only going to be around for a little longer, say a year, why bother upgrading the movement and calling it a new reference? Unless you’re saying the current reference BLNR stays around a little longer then disappears?
