some fresh helicopter pics

I took those earlier today.
The helicopter is a Sikorsky S58-T Twin Turbine, and it belongs to my friend Brad. He owns 5 State Helicopters, and he does aerial crane service and he is also the main pilot. Brad has over 22.000 (not a typo) flight hours and he is certified to fly (and instruct) pretty much anything with or without wings.

Tomorrow he is taking Amy and I on a ride over Dallas Ft.Worth in his blue helicopter (N4XY). I will post some aerial shots in the afternoon.

Beautiful pictures of a classic flying machine. I sure would appreciate a pic of the flight deck if you get the chance.

Thanks

More pics, as promised.
Lesson learned today: ISO 800 SUCKS!!!
Not too many choices though when you start flying at 6:30 AM and the sun was just barely coming out.

Six Flags Over Texas

BallPark in Arlington, home of the Texas Rangers Baseball team.

Construction site for Texas Stadium, future new home for Dallas Cowboys. When this is completed, it will hold several new world records. It will be the world's largest stadium with a retractable roof, and also it will house the word's largest video screen. (Mitsubishi DiamondVision)

FortWorth, Tandy Corp. building. It was my first time landing on a roof.

Back to yesterday's job site in Dallas, to finish it off. Three lifts left, at 4500 lbs a piece.

Almost noon now, and back to the hangar.

Speaking about Craig....
At the second job site we were just too frozen to stay outside and deal with the crazy turbulence that the blades were generating so we decided to wait in the back seat of a cop car.

That was the first time in my life being in the back seat of a cop car as a result of free will and with no bracelets on.

To top it off, it was a Dallas Swat Chevy Tahoe, and behind the rear seat it was full of weapons. haha.

It was tempting to load up! LOL

Great shots. Those old Sikorsky's are awesome. Thanks for sharing them.

The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department still flies one locally. I love watching that big sucker go.

Recently in San Diego, I got to watch an old Sky Crane do it's thing when I was working at the port. That's a big fugly helo!
