Yes. Have a platinum day date 40 and a Pelagos LHD. Could get a sub but the Pelagos is something unique. Nothing to do with brand. I like the poster with the water analogy. The club soda is the better decision.

The Tudor has been getting all the recent wrist time.

I own Rolex and Tudor. Recently added the LHD and it is getting all the wrist time. Considered a sub but it just seemed so bland in comparison to the Pelagos. I could actually picture myself selling my Rolexes and being happy with just Tudor and maybe one high end piece.

I have 4 Rolexes, but my my Pelagos probably puts in most of the hard work, when diving, shooting, and working on the farm.

If I had to make a call for best tool watch the Tudor Pelagos would probably it.

I've got 3 Tudors and 1 Rolex. I switch watches daily. Right now my Rolex is getting most of the wrist time. That could change tomorrow.

I started with Rolex and just got a Tudor because it offered something that was unique and unavailable from Rolex.

I think the brands have positioned themselves well in relation to one another, both have their place in the market and in a collection.

I also think many or most Tudor owners also own Rolex. However I do agree that Tudor is a cheaper solution for Rolex. Just look at the Tudor GMT pepsi vs the same Rolex GMT pepsi. How can you say that Tudor is not a cheaper solution? Just look at the price and they got the same functions.

Not desperate to buy a Tudor, happy to wait until the Rolex I want is available at the right price. I have seen too many impatient people buying then flipping Tudors.

I don’t think your perception that most Tudor owners also own a Rolex is accurate. The overwhelming majority of watch owners are one watch people and that includes Tudor and Rolex owners. The responses here are grossly skewed from reality. Most owners don’t even know that a forum like this exists. My perception is that most people view Tudor as a cheap version of a Rolex. I’ve spent plenty of time in the forums reading threads with people drooling over Tudor and blah, blah, blah. I have far more interest in acquiring an Omega, IWC, or Zenith than Tudor. I’m also tired of threads like this started by Tudor owners who seem to want validation instead of just buying what they really want... a Rolex.

I would pick a Tudor over most of the current Rolex crop, and that’s simply because of where I am in life. I’m mid-twenties and well on course in my career. I own a 3186 16570, Black Bay and a few others, and I tend to gravitate towards the Tudor. I feel the Tudor is a watch I can just wear, with very good fit and finish and a great movement, but at a price point (and availability) that means I don’t have to worry too much about it. Add to this that I also think most Tudors suit the younger wrist... Rolex seem too flashy at this point.

Of course, your analysis of some Tudor owners wanting validation is probably true (but verifiable? I don’t know about that...) but the simple fact of the matter is that Tudor watches are great in their own right. They’re absolutely no substitute for a Rolex, and if people believe they are, I think they’re not seeing past the fact that Tudor is under the same umbrella as Rolex.

I said "I also think many or most Tudor owners also own Rolex." I think this is accurate. I think Tudor generally appeal more to Rolex owner's then none Rolex owners, at least that is my own experience. Like Toyota and Lexus. If you know the quality of Rolex and Lexus are good, you will probably also like the quality of Toyota and Tudor as well compared to price.
I have never owned a Tudor, only Rolex's but I consider Tudor's all the time. Tudor share a history with Rolex and have many of the same lines as Rolex, like diver watches, GMT watches, Day-Date, Datejust equals and so on. But where Rolex stays very traditional and make very few changes. Tudor are much more daring trying different things like the Tudor Advisor. I would love a Rolex Advisor. It would be amazing! And the black bay heritage line, especially the black bay fifty-eight not to mention the Ranger line with the rose logo and the shape of the hands, looks vintage to me, but still modern. They have done a unbelievable job on all of these in my mind.

I am sorry you feel this way and have to endure threads like this, perhaps you could PM the OP and ask him to delete it? If not you could try to avoid clicking on them if you see more threads like this or scroll past them really fast?

Several Tudor Pelagos LHD owners here, me included. I own 2 Rolex's as well. The Tudor gets lots of wrist time - it's a great watch regardless of what name is on the dial. In fact, it's made me interested in acquiring other Tudor watches.

Always enjoyed my Tudors regardless of cost or comparison. BBB eta and Ranger rotate well with my 4 Rolex and a couple of Seikos
