My baby back from service.

Hello to all.

Just got my 14060M back from a full service from RSC in Hong Kong. Very happy. I got this piece from a private seller back home last year and had an unknown service history. Timekeeping was outside COSC specs. A few minor issues, no big deal but I thought I might as well send her in for peace of mind and ensure many more years ahead for me to enjoy it.

Also it's around 30% cheaper to do it in Hong Kong than Singapore so since I was heading there thought I might as well get it done. Swapped a new bezel insert, crystal and case back (apparently required to ensue water proof capability in my case). They optionally also offered to change the hands, dial and crown due slight scratch. Not obvious to my eyes so I politely declined. And also opted for a'light polish'.

Had a friend non WIS who was going to Hong Kong pick it up for me. Too bad I wasn't there to pick it up myself.

Just a couple of questions for you guys.

1) I didn't receive a service guarantee card. I thought that this was standard. All I got was this instead. Is this the new norm?

2) Just looking for opinions on the condition. Over polished? Don't get me wrong. Whatever it is I'm happy with it. Just curious as to the condition compared to 'original' condition. Pictures below.

Many thanks guys and gals!

Out of curiosity, why did you need a new back? The watch looks brand new now... wow.

Very nice pictures! The watch looks absolutely fabulous! I thought a laminated warranty card was provided as well???? Perhaps this is only done at the major service repair centers?

Note: For instance, I was told the drop off service center in Beverly Hills was only for walk in customers while the service center in Dallas was for dealers and customers. At Dallas they would issue the warranty card, but not at the Beverly Hills location. I am not sure about this....

Thanks! I’m not sure but that was what they told me. They said if not they cannot ensure it’s waterproof capability.

Yeah. I was under the impression that for sure I’d get the card so was a bit perplexed and disappointed when I didn’t,t get it. Just hoping someone who just got theirs serviced can chime in and clarify my doubt. If not when I get home I might give them a call to ask them. FYI my buddy just passed me the watch yesterday at the airport as I was leaving. I’m in Auckland now.

Cheers to all!

Watch looks great, doesn’t look over polished to me. Not sure about the service card... I’ve sent two watches to RSC NY and got cards on both, but might depend on location or what level of Service Center they are. Enjoy it!!

Thanks for your positive comments. I’m quite sure the RSC in Hong Kong is a standard and official service centre there. In fact I’m quite sure it’s the only official one in Hong Kong.

The watch is stunning....you should have received the green 2 year warranty card. That’s your proof should you sell the watch and should it need fixed in the 2 year period that it’s covered for repair... I’ve had 2 watches full service in the UK at RSC and received the card on both occasions

Nice refinishing job. The coronet on the clasp looks minty.

Thanks! Yeah, was really hoping to get it. Waiting for someone who recently had theirs serviced in Hong Kong to chime in. If not I probably will call them to check. Wish I had gone there myself to collect it.

I’m pretty sure the one I sent to in Hong Kong is the official one. Not an authorized service Centre but one owned by Rolex themselves. Unlike the US Hong Kong is relatively small and hence I think there is only one main Official RSC.

Yes I read that as well. But there is some doubt there if the watch was actually sent to RSC as the OP sent it in via an AD.

Should have taken more pictures before sending in for service but these are the ones I have. Not that great. But I have to say the condition was not that bad even before the service.

All good.

They shouldn't have brushed the sides of links on the bracelet, they come as polished by default.

Apparently not, I stand corrected: See below.

Nope, they should definitely be brushed on this bracelet.

Yup. Definitely brushed. Unlike the 78790 which is on the 16710 GMT. That one is polished on the sides of the links.

Oh! My bad then, I was comparing it with the bracelet on my 16710 (and the 114060). Thanks for correcting me Bas. :)

Thanks Bas. Any idea about my question on the international guarantee card from the Hong Kong RSC?

Very nice indeed! Making me consider one of these instead of another 114060.

Looks great, similar polish finish to my 16710 that was already polished when purchased pre owned from an AD.
