Modern GMT and SUB case polish

Hi all,
I have a question. Whenever RSC polishes the modern cases, they are able to get out the hairline scratches on the side of the case, but in the process they break the sharp lines of these flat sides, creating the mild curvature that we call "the effects of polish". In the Rolex factory, when the cases are first polished, they have a machine that can polish the side totally flat (as it appears when it is totally new). Why can't the RSC use the same machine to polish the sides so that it looks truly new, and not just "polished". I am not talking about removing big dents or big scratches, which will require laser welding. But honestly, why can't Rolex offer these services for people who want them (obviously for extra $$).

I'm not sure but at the factory they're starting with a blank case that just had been stamped out then milled then polished.

Light polishing does not usually remove the sharp edges. Especially hairline scratches on the side. I personally tape up the non polishing areas with masking tape before i polish the shiny bits. I wouldnt recommend doing it yourself tho.

The simple answer is that when someone polishes a watch, they are taking out scratches and other marks of love, and this has to be done by hand. By a person.

I think the actual amount of metal removed by a cloth buffing wheel is a thousand-fold less in magnitude than the typical TRF contributor thinks it is.
