I shouldn't have this problem...

So I just sold an old car and now have $18,000 to spend. I already have a few Rolex's and have my eye on a few more and other brands.

The options I'm thinking about are below, what would you guys do???

Option 1
Explorer II 216570 Polar
Submariner 114060

Option 2
Daytona 116500 Black

Option 3
Audemars Piguet 15400

Option 4
Save for Patek Philippe 5712/1A

Of those, I would go with option 3. Would add some nice variety

Old car sale = SD43

Last year I sold my 1965 Mustang I had had since I was 16. I had the car for 35 years and told my wife that that money was going to a keepsake. I got the SD43 and the rest went to my daughter’s wedding.

Nice ride! I'd have a hard time parting with that one.

You already have a sub and an explorer. Many other watches out there to purchase than doubling up. Imho your collection isn't diverse enough for doubling up yet.

What other watches do you have? I like the PP but, it depends upon your collection.

I've never heard of them before. I just looked it up and its not a bad looking watch, kind of like a blend of the Daytona with some fancy bits and a modular design.

I know. Rolex is just so recognized and they hold there value really well. I need to do more studying on other brands. I also kind of have a thing for the Grand Seiko Snowflake.

Such a beautiful car. I'm a huge fan of mustangs, I'm sure it was hard to let go...

Even if you get Rolex there are many other Rolex's to get than another Explorer II or a Sub.

A GMT, Skydweller, Daytona, Milgauss, Airking perhaps - some different models to make a more rounded collection?

Those are great watch but they aren't my style. The other ones I'd be interested in would be the Yacht-Master 116622/ 16622 or a Milgauss 116400 that I would have engraved by Jeff Parke (j.parke on Instagram)

No Panerai in that mix at all?

I don’t like any of those options. Not considering your current collection. You already have an explorer and a sub. Why buy another explorer and another sub?

I could maybe see the Daytona but if I were you, I’d start to research other brands. I think a Panerai would start to offer some balance to your collection.

Even though I personally prefer Rolex but for you, I would vote for waiting to get the watch you truly want! The AP!

Option 3. The AP is a very different beast from the others on the list
