Brushing the center links on Speedmaster?

Has anyone had this done? If so, any pics? I did a google search for pics on this and am coming up empty.

I realize the polished strips are pretty thin, but sometimes think they would look better brushed.

I think an earlier version of this bracelet was all brushed. Have a look for images of earlier versions to see what it looks like. I'm thinking 1980s to early-1990s.

I have never seen it done. Do a google search on Speedmaster bracelet reference 1450. It's been out of production for decades, but you probably would like it if you can find one. Collectors covet them, so they probably trade for silly money...

I did just that when I bought my used Speedmaster Pro about 15 years ago. Used a scotchbrite pad and just worked slowly. I do not like their bracelet finish even though I like the bracelet. I wear the watch on a high end Hirsch alligator strap now and the bracelet sits in the box.

Thanks for the info. I sent the bracelet off to LA Watch Works today to have it done. Will post pics once I have it back.

I’m curious to see how this turns out. Just got a Speedy a few months ago so if yours turns out nice I might do the same.

Did they give you a price or turn around time OP?

Cool! I also am very interested to see how it looks. If it works out well, this could easily become a thing

Received my bracelet back from LA Watch Works this morning. They did a phenomenal job. Pics actually don’t do it justice.

Looks good!

I see you already added the adjustable clasp. Isn’t it a great addition?

Congratulations, that looks really great. If you don't mind me asking how much did that run you?

Yes, adjustable clasp is a must.

Cost of the brush job was $100. Worth every penny. In person, it transforms the bracelet. They had the bracelet in their shop for 3 business days. Very quick turnaround.

Nice. Any chance you might post a few more photos after it's all mounted up? Also, is the brushed finish on the bracelet still a good match to the brushed finish on the case?

I think it's fantastic that you shared this, and I'm thinking of boxing my bracelet up in a month or so, as we're about to run into the cooler weather where I live, and I'll me mounting my Speedmaster to its strap then.

I will definitely post more pics, but sadly, it will not be until next week. The finish looks exactly like the factory finish. I am very particular in general, and had reservations about getting it done. Could not be happier.

not for me. i think the brushed gives the speedy a strictly sporty look. i prefer having the subtle polish on the bracelet to not only complement similar facets of the case, but also gives it a double personality of elegance/class.

that being said, it seems to go well with the speedy tues given its fully brushed case.
