116613LB or 116618LB for Daily?

I just added a 116613lb initially as a weekend option. That is now out the window and it’s my daily. If anyone thinks it’s too loud that’s their problem. I also like the steel case since I have two young boys so durability is critical.

I feel like this is what I am running into from my non-collector friends. At least 85% seem to like the TT better.

One major selling point with the gold is I won't be tempted to "upgrade" later, which is what happened last time (although I mostly regretted the TT with black face instead of blue).

I'm pretty partial to the looks of both for the bluesies. Love the pics you guys are posting.

This is my last watch purchase for probably 5 years and I am consolidating to a single watch for practical reasons. I probably would not get a SS rolex since my next buy will be to replace my Pam I sold in college. Someone convince me on a single bluesy. Would like to purchase in the next week :D

Just get the 116618LB and never look back. That watch is a lifetime watch and a holy grail of many many many watch lovers.

Nothing better than a full gold sub.

My dad had a five digit all gold (16618) for 25 years. It was a daily for a few years at first, then part of a rotation. When he finally got rid of it, it was tired. Especially the bracelet. Full of dents (scratches weren’t so bad). It hasn’t stopped me from wanting all gold, but it does have me questioning whether all gold is the right choice for me day in and day out.

You've thought about this for a long time. Get what that YOU want and have been saving for years to buy.

The TT will probably hold up a little better to daily wear if it is going to be your one watch. TT does seem to draw a little more attention, probably because of the SS/YG contrast. I would go TT if I were you.

I was not interested in the YG version when I first bought my TT. It was my grail piece I had wanted for over a decade. After wearing it for a while, I loved the richness of the YG so much I wondered if I would like all gold better. So I went into an AD, tried one on, and from that moment knew I wanted an upgrade.

Upgrading is not too difficult as long as you hold on to the extra cash you saved. If you are on the fence, save yourself some $$$ and go TT.

I did get the 116618 as my so called "Final" watch since it was the most expensive I have ever purchased. Go for it than you probably save $$$ in the long run because buying and selling gets expensive as a hobby!

I've been staring at pictures for a few hours now and the verdict is that I like the TT bracelet better than the full gold bracelet, but also prefer the gold case over the steel. Anyone ever tried rocking the gold case with a Nato strap, or is that just crazy talk?

My advice is, if your budget allows for full YG and you are considering it, BUY IT. Otherwise, if you get the TT, you will always look at it and wonder if you should have gone full gold.

Disclaimer, I own the 116618LB and absolutely love it.

Not everyone wants the full gold. I've owned two, it was too much weight for daily, got annoying, so I figured i'd keep it for dress/weekends, and then the weekends would arrive, and I wanted to wear something else.

There's no right and wrong, and its completely incorrect to assume full gold is the only destination.

If you go with the steel and gold you’ll probably still long for the full gold every day. You know what you really want so just get that. If you counter-justify you’ll end up wasting money in the end! I made the mistake a few times

Nothing in Rolex world stands out quite like the Blue TT Sub ..and its available and if lucky can get a bit of a discount and its iconic and its timeless and not too expensive ...

YG Blue Sub ..awesome, but costly .

X2. I own the 618LB as a daily driver. Would NEVER go back to TT or SS.
It was/is my grail watch and it is a watch for a lifetime!

Close to a decision. Last question! For those of you with a full gold watch, should I be trying to match the color of other hardware (belt buckles, etc) or does that not matter? I have various shades of stainless and that is probably all I will ever have as I do not like goldtone (only real gold). I never thought of it, but a friend brought it up. Opinions?

It doesn’t matter...and you’ll figure out what works for you once that beauty is on your wrist!

I'm 6'3 275

I know you're excited about your shiny new full gold sub, lots of posts of it, and looking for reasons to talk it up, but I wouldn't toss around suggestions why I don't want one or I find it too heavy.

If I wanted one, trust me, I'd own one again. The 3rd time.

I made some calls and found a reasonably close AD that had a full gold sub and a two tone daytona. I had them side by side and couldn't see myself wanting to wear a TT sub over the full gold. The gold is just stunning in person (I personally think TTs look better in photos, but gold looks better in person).

Put in a buy order from a trusted forum seller for the full gold
