That’s the state I was at a few weeks ago. Took everything off except for my chain and watch.

Then I realized that I don’t need a $8000 watch either, because a $40 Casio will do.

After some thought I decided that I like things worth something, I like things that shine, and I like things that last forever.

That brought me to realize that I like jewelry in general, and I’m okay with that

I am curious what type of emergency may need a few k in gold to manage, that can’t be handled preferentially another way, unless it’s a robbery ?

I would like to hear his answer as well, but personally...

I picture losing my wallet and important documents (either because of a fire, or running away from an attack or something)

Then all you have is what you’re wearing

Maybe a Rolex, maybe gold jewelry

You can sell it off and use the money to get home or to safety

precisely the unexpected... whatever that might be above and beyond any normal emergencies that can be handled traditionally.

even taking into account that nothing happens to cause stress, they are still assets... just wearable assets.

I mean just in general, it is more comforting to wear something worth something vs something worth nothing

Then if something were to happen, hopefully not, you do have the option of selling off your wearable asset

I’ve done business with sarraf many times. 2 handmade 18k link chains and a 18k bracelet for my mother. I’ve liked all the pieces. Even broken a chain and they repaired it years later for just the cost of shipping. My experience is buy with confidence. Their handmade chains are where it’s at over the machine stamped common stuff imho

Miami Cuban Links are hand made...….curb links are lighter and machine made.

Holding them side by side the difference in appearance is night and day.
