Screw down crown and gasket

I have a Date Just that I bought in 1986 and it runs fine although never been serviced. I don't wear it everyday . Will unscrewing the crown to wind it once a month put stress on the screw down crown or gasket>

As long as no corrosion has occurred in the threads of the tube or crown, there should be no problems.

By now your gaskets could already be compromised anyway. So don’t assume the watch is water resistant anymore.

This can be double checked by a pressure check at a watchmaker.

Thank you for your response. I swim with it all time and surprisingly no leaks.
