Best place to list a 2019 Corvette ZR1 for sale?

My FIL is selling one of his cars and asked me to get it listed for him. Are there any recommended websites (aside from autotrader or similar) to list it that cater to enthusiasts? It’s supercharged and fully loaded with 5,000 miles.

I’m sure a Corvette forum would be the natural starting point. There are always interesting cars here too.

Agree on bringatrailer.com. My FIL passed away in ‘18, we sold his 87 911 Carrera there and it was a very smooth process. The only challenge could be that you need a lot of pictures, many auctions have over 100, of every angle, underneath, etc. Most have videos of cars starting, driving, and one of the convertible top opening and closing would be a good idea too. Otherwise it a pretty simple process and it’s not expensive.

eBay. FB Marketplace. Craig’s.

Then insist on a f2f conclusion. No joy rides without a written agreement and proof of insurance.

However, I’d wait. Hertz is liquidating their fleet and prices are depressed.

Nice car btw.

CL, but don't expect to receive top dollar. The C8 has decimated C7 values.

Exotic / sports car sales have been doing REALLY well this month.

I have had GREAT success and visibility listing my cars on EBAY. Last 5 out of 5 luxury cars I have SOLD the buyer first found it THERE. It's expensive per month but WELL WORTH it.

I also list on CL and the respective car forums as well - but don't have much success through that for upscale vehicles.

BAT is great in many cases, but I don't have much experience with that.

Good luck!

Some great suggestions above. Giving those and a forum /club with enthusiasts should get this sold. Hopefully it's an easy sale, best of luck to you

My advice would be to

1) get it professionally detailed

2) find a local photographer that will take a bunch of high res pics for you and do a startup and drive video (unless you have a solid camera and the time)

3) post it on BaT

+1 for BAT, bringatrailer.com, it's a great option for high end and sports cars!

Never heard of bring a trailer until now, might be worthwhile since they deal with high end vehicles.

I am torn with Bring-a-Trailer. It takes an engaged seller to do well there. As mentioned, take lots and lots of photos. Then, take some more!

And, bring a thick skin. The site is loaded with serial commenters and model-specific experts. Expect questions from those who have no intention on bidding.

That all said, the site will bring the true buyers.

Just say’n.

BaT is great for some cars, older Bimmers, Porsches, etc. but late model cars don't generally do all that well. Especially domestics.

I've had very good luck with eBay for most of my cars. You get great exposure, world-wide.

Honestly though, Corvettes depreciate so quickly the first couple of years, and they are a dime a dozen, and that's an odd color, and it can be a real hassle. So my last one I just sold outright (wholesale) to a dealer. The one before I traded in (on a Porsche). I may have left a couple of thousand on the table, but it was over and done in a day instead of months dealing with lookie-loos and all of the other hassles. Plus, these days, the market is tough what with that virus thing.

Thanks guys. I listed it on corvette forum and it sold and wired within a few hours. That was easier than selling a datejust!

If I could have any C7 this would be the one, beautiful. Best of luck and hope it finds its way to a good home and someone who will really appreciate it.

Almost every new sports car I purchase I end up going with the rarest color made. I love bright vibrant colors on fast cars that really stick out especially if you go to a lot of shows and meets and there are sooo many reds for example. In my experience when you go to resale it is in fact more difficult to find someone who wants such a "crazy" color but those that do usually are willing to pay more to have that one since they are so rare.

In fact, there were only 85 Sebring Orange Corvettes made TOTAL. That means this could very easily be the only ZR1 Convertible in that color. If I was looking to buy a ZR1 I would insist it be in that color and as a result be prepared to pay a premium over all the other ones for sale.
