Favourite case design?

Sitting here admiring my Portugese case, love the mix of brushed and polished surfaces, elegant lugs, perfect sized crown and that domed crystal

What is your favourite case?

Got to be the Grand Seiko 45xx-8000. Can't think of another watch, at any price, that so nails the basics. The clean simplicity, the brushed and polished planes that are always opposite in their relationship to the light, the thinness, the razor-sharpness, the proportions. Absolute perfection.

In terms of comfort, it'll be my Rolex Submariner and the Rolex Explorer-I that get #2 and #1.

But #3 goes to the Archimede Outdoor Protect 39. Easily one of the best case designs for small-medium sized wrists.

Wow that is beautiful. How much do these sell for?

This specific model is (relatively) common, but it’s getting increasingly difficult to find a good one that hasn’t been polished or meddled with. An honest example, sourced from a reputable Japanese dealer, recently serviced - often still to chronometer standards - will run your about $1500-2000.
