Tragedy, broke my cermaic bezel

Hi,

Haven't posted for a while, been working a lot, but this is something I wanted to share with you guys, saturday I put muy blue cermaic sub in my watch pouch and didn't make sure I closed the pouch all the way, so I put it away and started walking, the watch slipped out and bang, against the floor, dropped it waist high, the outcome is in the pics. Just dropped out at the service center, hteyll get back to me with the estimate, will keep you posted.

Someone over at TZ just had their ceramic bezel replaced on a DSSD, it was $450 (I thought it would be worse). Yours is gold so it will be more.

Very sorry about your insert but expect quite a hefty price for that slither of ceramic, thats the trouble with the ceramic over the aluminium.

Was the damage to the bezel the only damage? I would prefer a broken ceramic insert to case lug damage. Your watch will look as good as new when it comes back.

That is what I was wondering. Is the gold on the bezel damaged as well as the ceramic insert broken?

My slight paranoia about my ceramic bezel watches is why I sold them all and am now happy with my lowly 14060M with cheap insert and bracelet.

These Ceramic inserts are nonsense for sport models.... They just break like glass, I will stick to my 16610 LV and my oldies (5513/1680) for a while......

Guess the GMT just slid to third on my shopping list, even if this is a rarity it is still a concern given how much they promote the durability

That sucks. I hope you have insurance. I have a no deductible personal articles policy on all my watches and therefore don't really worry about the high cost to replace something like a ceramic insert.

Ouch! So what exactly is the point in having a ceramic insert over aluminum?
