It's one of the reasons I like that unobtainable tweezer thingamajig, You can just pinch the springbar with the bracelet on.
If you lay the watch face down and open the clasp, you should be able to fit the tool over the narrowest part of the clasp so unscrewing the bracelet wouldn't be necessary.

Getting the bracelet back on is the problem. Off is relatively MUCH easier.

Using the double spring bar tool from Esslinger I was able to remove the bracelet and the Easylink with just the normal awkwardness of a first attempt. What I really appreciate is that you can set the gap between the tips with the screw adjustment. This helps to minimize the chances of scratching the lugs.

+1

However, I have seen one listed on VRF Market site...and it wasn't inexpensive...

I originally bought a cheap tool on Ebay which was the wrong size for my Daytona. It requires a very small (1.2mm IIRC) tip. I got a refund and kept looking.

After doing more research I finally bought a Bergeon 6767-F from an Ebay seller in France a few months ago for only $22 including shipping. I got it delivered to my U.S. address in one week. Here is the current listing.

Bergeon 6825-PF seems to work well for many.

Thanks for that, I just ordered one.

Just received my Bergeon 6825-PF today, and noticed the fine forks need to be filed down a bit. I'm sure I gouged the inner parts of my endlink a bit trying to force them in before filing.

Plus, I'm not sure if its smart to use my 116520 as a test bed.
At least I'm going to tape up the back of my lugs to minimize damage.

Has no one else caught the fake Moonwatch used on the Esslinger site to advertise this tool?

I have both the Rolex tool and the Bergeon 6825 with fine forks. Both work great, but yes, the Rolex tool is harder to get. For years I used the Bergeon tool without problems, but I did have to file down the FF tips for them to fit correctly.

I have a DIY at http://www.minus4plus6.com/maintenance.htm#removal and more on the Rolex kit (purchased here in the sales forum) here: http://www.minus4plus6.com/bracelet_kit.htm

I believe it was Manny who suggested once to fabricate a clone of the 3200 if there was enough demand for it. I certainly would buy.

I've been working on it for the last few weeks with my friend. Needless to say it's a little bit of a pain in the A$$ but we are getting close.

Please do! It will be especially nice if they work right out of the box, no filing the points.

Definitely! They claim 1.2mm so it should work. Fingers crossed!

I've got a question about all of these pliers/tweezers: do they work for normal straps?

I find that changing bracelets like modern SEL Rolex/ Speedmaster pretty easy compared to changing out a leather strap that is stiff and doesn't have any cut-outs in the back. It's almost impossible to remove the strap without damaging it or INNER lugs.

This is great news!

Does it need filing?

Does the spring bar stay put easily?

No filing, it grabs the springbar perfectly and holds it as well

Thanks!

Looks like it could be the alternative for 6825-PF

I like it because it is so simple, genius one-hand operation which means one can change the bracelet very swiftly :)
