Will this pass as a dress watch???

For years now, I designated my PAM359 as my dress watch. Early January I bought my YM rhodium 40 and SubC Hulk. YM for formal and Hulk for casual. Is the YM rhodium dial pass as a dress watch?

No i don't think a YM is a dress watch, is a sport dressy watch but those are two different things. A Cellini is a dress watch..

It wouldn't stop me from wearing it with a suit.

Not to me, but to each his own. For dress I think, thin, simple, strap not bracelet, plain unmarked bezel, uncluttered dial. I love my sub, I love my speedy, my navitimer, my GSAR, my milemarker, but my DJ and 6298 have been used more as dress until I bought a vintage Zenith. 36mm wide and 9mm thick, plain silver dial so it works with black, tan, navy etc.

To know the future is to be trapped by it

+1 you could wear even the sub as a dress watch. But by definition the ym is not a dress watch

Yep this. I'd wear it with anything considered formal with no personal hang up, but it's still not a dress watch.

You can wear whatever you like as a "dress" watch, I think it would look great dressed up.

However, from what I've read a "dress" watch is more of a cellini , or calatrava type watch. IE a thin 3 hand watch on a leather strap. That being said I think the YM would looked great

First big no-no for a dress watch is circular luminescent hour markers. But as I said, no one cares, so wear what you want when you want. Wear a DSSD as a dress watch, even.

I don't think either are dress watches nor the Pam for that matter. Though in most personal and business settings any will probably do. A state dinner? Black tie affair? Don't think any would meet that standard.

Savage.. LMAO!

OP: I'd wear it, but even a 36mm DJ is not a dress watch for some people.
There's no rules here, wear what you like. But if you're looking for a true dress watch you can wear with a tux, get a small(er) time only gold (any color) slim watch on a leather strap.. Or at least that's what I would do.

Not really.

Can it be worn with a suit? Sure

But it's not a dress watch

It's a beautiful sport watch. I would not call it a dress watch. But who really even notices the watch you wear under long sleeves?
