1984 Rolex Datejust 16014
Good afternoon. Is the 1984 Rolex Datejust 16014 considered "vintage" Rolex? There is a local jewelry store and the owner buys and sells Rolex watches. This one is virtually mint, recently serviced and just beautiful with original box - bought for $2400 out the door with a one year warranty (bartered down from $3100). Was that a reasonable price? Thank you for your time!

If you're happy with it that's all that matters.

That's got an acrylic crystal and is 30 years old. So, in my book, yes, vintage. That sounds like a fair price for a complete set with service, plus it's got the bonus of a quick-set date feature. Would love to see photos. My 16013 (from about 1988) says hello.

I need to attempt a good photo. Your photo is magnificent. What a beauty! My favorite movie is "The Color of Money"....and my watch is identical to Fast Eddie Felson's watch worn in that movie....so I had to have it.

Very fair price. And no I for one don't consider it vintage.
And I have one like it. |

For that price, And condition, I think it's a winner!

Thanks. Yours sounds like a winner. Post a photo when you can. With the prices of other vintage Rolexes skyrocketing, it's nice to know that these old classic Datejusts can still be had for a reasonable price. Enjoy.

If it is a 16030, it is a SS bezel that's what he 0 at the end means.

Yes, sorry, typos! My Datejust is proudly a 16030, with steel bezel, not white gold.
