Gold discoloration?
noticed this recently and was wondering if anyone knows what it is? i've had this watch for almost a year (bought new at an AD) and its most noticeable on both end links but i can see it on pretty much every link
assuming its normal (hopefully?) but just didn't know it could happen within a year |

Have you tried cleaning the watch? Looks like there could be some residue on the bracelet.
I know that every time I think my RG DDII has faded, I place it next to a YG watch and am instantly corrected. Either way, I’d be shocked if the color was fading.

I have seen that spot change tones not only on gold watches. Wonder if it has to do with the machining?

Pure 24 K gold does not oxidize or tarnish. 14 or 18 K gold is alloyed with other metals which indeed can oxidize or tarnish.

My oyster does that too. I clean it with a brush and it looks better.

I believe a soft brush and soapy water would do the trick. I notice this even on SS

edit- I don't know how this works on brushed finishes. I've used it on mine and it's been fine though, but YMMV. |

Have it checked by your AD's watchmaker. I'm sure they've come across issues like this before.

Is that a warranty issue? I mean for 35k it should be perfect
Would Rolex deal with this? |

If there is indeed permanent discoloration, that would involve a trip to the RSC, but that seems enormously unlikely. |
