Deepsea buy

I´m thinking my new purchase is going to be a Deepsea, and need a little help!
Have the Deepsea had a ceramic bezel since it first came on the marked?
Is there any difference between the different year models?
Would it be best to get one as new as possible, or is an old one pretty much the same?

Welcome and a nice watch you want to buy

Now maybe use the search function since all the answers are out there

Or Google

Good choice, only one version of Deepsea available, price varies on condition of pre-owned, and brand new is not difficult to locate.👍

The bezel is S.Steel its the insert that's ceramic and the only changes in the DSSD since its launch are very minor cosmetic things like fonts on dial. The movement is still basically the same cal 3135 that was launched in 1988 main changes now the use of the in--house now made escapement parts. And Rolex don't make models by the year, the case serial will give a appox date when the case was stamped. At the moment we have a single letter G plus 6 numbers and the so called random serials a mixture of letters numbers a total of 8 digits all running in the same time frame. And what these serials will tell you is the cases were stamped sometime between the latter part of 2010 till present time.

I won't give you the "use the search function" answer which I find to be a bit annoying...anyway the above post is a great answer. Also, I own one and it's great. I'd buy the newest one you can find from a trusted seller on here. PM me with any questions and good luck!

Pretty sure it's been unchanged since it's release, yes it's ceramic.
Enjoy the hunt!

Hey buddy

I don't want to be 'annoying' . . . but at least everyone can do just a little bit of research . . . .

It's all here on TRF

And finally why did they made the 'search' button ?

I guess that before you bought the 930 in your avatar you did some research

There are many out there . . .

The 3.0 Turbo 75-77 , 78 up 3.3 Turbo . . .

Love the 930

Take care my friend

Actully I did use the search button, there was a lot of posts on the Deepsea yes, but I could´t find answers to my questions there.
Maybe if I had spend an hour or two more trolling through it I could have…
I don´t know, just seemed easier and more interactive to make my own post, and it worked!
I know you don´t mean to be annoying, but it is actually pretty annoying, seeing a reply on your post, thinking yes somebody who will help me!! And then getting let down by a "use the search button"
Isn´t the whole point with a forum to use it as a forum and not a dictionary? I mean it would be pretty boring if everybody just used the search button and didn´t write new posts?
Anyways thanks for the welcome and I'm glad you like the Deepsea too

I believe the Deep Sea is pretty much unchanged since it's release. It has the same case, crystal, band and adjustable clasp. I believe all the Deep Seas are the same across the models

There are three different dials (very minor font variations). Other than that, it is the same as when it was released.

So, should I keep my 88 930 CAB and not sell it for a 997 CAB with PDK? I found a Deepsea for 9k, but what about the P Car ??

Tough one, the 997 is sweet but that 88 cab- classic and dare I say, irreplaceable. Who even needs a 5 speed tranny when you got some much power and so little weight.
