In 2009 Ace Hotel introduced the limited edition Converse X Ace CT Bosey running shoe for its staff at the New York, Portland and Seattle hotels. As with Pendleton blankets and Pearl+ soap, the collaboration with Converse was conceived as an opportunity to develop a deliberate and meaningful product that would enhance the Ace brand by meeting the company’s aesthetic, conceptual and formal needs.

The Converse Rubber Company has a long-standing interest in the production of recreational footwear for fishing, camping, hiking and sports, especially basketball. Inspired by shoes found in the Converse archives, the design of the Converse X Ace shoe combines the form of the high-top Chuck Taylor All Star Bosey running shoe with detailing taken from vintage wading boots as well as shoes that Converse created for US military basic training in the 1940s. The Converse X Ace shoes are available in olive drab or a duotone navy and black. The choice of this style of shoe is closely aligned with the Ace brand and the company’s interests in utilitarian design and surplus or repurposed objects and materials.

Various editions of the Converse X Ace CT Bosey shoe have been released since 2009. Produced in small numbers (around 300 pairs), a new edition is planned for the spring of 2013.
Excellent information, Patrick. Thank you! I love them even more, now... they really speak to my love for all things vintage/nostalgic/utilitarian. Wow - I wonder if really only 300 pairs were made? Should have them in a few days.

I have some nice dress shoes but the most comfortable shoe ever made, in my opinion, was the USA made New Balance 991, the old model.

Just bought a pair of Ovadia & Sons Milford Double Monk Strap. I'll just have to wait for the spring, warmer weather and dry streets before I take them out for a ride.

Other shoe makers I like is C&J, Carmina, Loake, Tod's.
Also, Meermin is ALOT of shoe for the price. Like that company alot. Only thing is long wait and ordering over the net could be tricky since you can't try them on and maybe have to send back.

Anything made by Nike.

I haven't worn dress shoes in years. I dislike them.

Leaving for Sandals Whitehouse in Jamaica in two weeks for 10 days... Gotta look good

Bought a pair of RMW Comfort Craftsman for the evening wear, Cole Haan for the daytime. I just love whole leather, single stitched...

They could be made by more than one company.

Trickers, Loake, Alfred Sargent and Grenson to name some all make similar.

http://www.pediwear.co.uk/grenson/products/6045.php

There are more examples on their own web pages. Hope this helps Gus.

You could also just order them from Pediwear instead. Of course that won't be as much fun, but then again it'll cost you just a bit less in the long run. Once you figure out your size it really is a piece of cake. So far I've done pretty good with figuring out my size for a number of different shoes and boots without actually trying them on first. I've either gone with recommendations from other forum members or there are a number of venders who are very good at helping you determine your size as long as you have an established size from other shoemakers and lasts.

By the way I have ordered from Pediwear online and the have excellent service.

I wear Cole Haan's myself for dress wear. I have a pair from 1992, that has been resoled a few times and wears great!
