In a bloated, over-fed society that is so obsessed with food it borders on a collective mental disorder, it's not surprising. Hell, at least half the ads on TV are now food-related (whether pizza, fast food, or restaurant chains, grocery stores, etc etc). The number of TV programs that center around eating food or preparing food or traveling for food is just weird. Fat thirty and forty-somethings shamelessly grab electric shopping scooters meant for the infirm and elderly in grocery stores to fill their baskets full of crap because they can't even be bothered to walk. "Fat-shaming" is considered a thing yet the obesity health time bomb in youth due to nothing more than gluttony and inactivity is ignored.

In an instant gratification society where food choices are so immense and affordable that food-obsession reaches the heights of lunacy, it's no wonder a banal, $3.99 chicken sandwich can trigger violence if it's thought to be the "latest thing" but yet have to wait for one.

Is waiting in line for an hour to get "Fast food" the definition of Irony, Idiocy, or both?

Great perspective and I would venture to say the answer to your question is undoubtedly both.

It wasn’t about the chicken.

There are parts of MD/DC where fights end up with deaths. Nothing new.

Don’t let the media paint this death about the chicken. The region has a far more violent approach to dispute resolution.

As evidenced by daily murders in DC proper and the Maryland suburbs reported on the news practically every day of the week.

Personally I think 2 things happened in the last few years.

One is we allowed the food industry to turn the nation into sugar addicts with sugar and sugar substitutes as well as overloading us with carbs which immediately turn into glucose (sugar) when we eat them.

And secondly we allowed the media and social media to divide us.

Both were corporate money grabs that have strangled the country.

We can continue down this road or we can decide to not allow ourselves to be manipulated. The choice is ours.

Thing is we have the conscious choice whether we choose to immerse ourselves in the media and social media. You can always choose to log off the laptop and turn off the TV.

Excellent observation. Tyson supplies the chicken to both.

As for store ambiance, Chik is way better than Popeyes. The last time I was in Popeyes the chicken was so greasy it was inedible. I'll never go back to Popeyes.

Well, I have to say that the Popeye's Chicken Sandwich is pretty darn good. I preferred the spicy version. The kids liked the original. The original had Mayo on it which I would probably leave off next time. The bun is a Hawaiian roll. It's very crispy and has a pickle. I don't think I would stab anybody for it but I'll definitely eat again.

There is a you tube viral video of the 55 year old woman being body slammed WWE style by a Popeyes employee shortly after she made the mistake of hurling racial slurs at the restaurant crew. She was busted up like a carton of eggs and is still in the hospital. Crazy is an understatement.
