The Irishman...

Long long movie... but it doesn't feel like a 3-1/2 hour film

Hard to say... while I was alive during that period, no one really knows the absolute truth.
if goodfellas was a 10/10... and casino was a 9/10, The Irishman is a 7.5/10.
the computer enhancement is annoying at first, but then you get used to it and it really doesn't affect the story or acting.

Haven’t seen it yet, but a friend of mine had a small part in the movie (he’s not an actor, just showed up for open casting and got the part). Not sure if they kept his part in, but he was a groomsman for some wedding scene at a church (coincidentally the same church that ran the catholic school I attended until I was 10).

“Someday” is coming in 10 days. The Irishman will be available to Netflix subscribers on November 27th.
Considering how long this film is having it available at home will make it very convenient to watch. Looking forward to it.

Superb cinema.

Great story. Great acting.

Pesci will get the Supporting Actor Oscar.

If you appreciate lugholes on Rolexes, you’ll love this movie.

Agreed.

But the movie still has to be good.

And it works for Rolex.

Did you see Joker raked in over 950 million worldwide on a 60 million budget? It will exceed 1 billion easily. Quite impressive for a standalone comic book character flick.

Irishman on netflix.... anyone see it yet?

Great cast of actors, 3 1/2 hours long. I think pachino did a good job at playing hoffa. What do you guys think of the cgi effects? I feel like there getting better and better with it.

i thought it was really good. the ending was depressing though, felt too real considering their actual ages

was funny seeing deniro every time he kicked/shot people because you could tell its still a 76 yr old man no matter the cgi lol

I'm half way through. So far it's just ok for me. The story is pretty slow moving and a few of the scenes are flat out rediculas given the age of the actors. Hopefully the second half picks up.

I actually watched it yesterday, it's a fantastic film.
To be expected from Martin Scorsese though.

Yeah it's a bit ridiculous. All 3 of the guys are north of 75 years old. In some scenes it looks like they could be in their 50s, but 30s/40s was not believable.

Loved it

I had previously read the book and I found that it held the storyline quite nicely

Over the past few decades, I thought De Niro and Pacino were just overacting clowns. The Irishman shows that they, are indeed, very capable actors. Although the movie was over 3 1/2 hours long, it was a very good movie.

I'll be doing the same. Saw the clip w/ Scorsese & gang talking shop about the making of The Irishman, loved that conversation.
