I love my BLNR but the BLRO is really nice especially with the new darker bezel colors compared to the MK1. I know some will say just go with what you like but it's tough. I really like both and I only want one GMT in the collection.

Thoughts?

Basically, you would be taking a $5k haircut on the original price you paid for your BLNR. The newer model IS worth a premium (for the improvements and the Pepsi is valued higher than BLNR) ... but maybe not $5k more. I would think a $3k premium plus your BLNR.

Having said all of that, I personally prefer the BLNR over the BLRO. But I also prefer the new model over the older one — I just am that way, I need the newest.

In your shoes, I would move forward but with $3k cash.

BLRO all the way! I own BLNR, BLRO and CHNR. Nothing compares to my BLRO.

I own both on the Jubilee bracelet and if one had to go I would keep the BLRO. Just the colors for me.

I own both 116710BLNR (oyster) and 126710BLRO (jubilee) and as much as people tell me they're the same watch, they just feel very different for me.

Now that Rolex offers both bracelets options though, I will side with BLRO, it just looks so good with either oyster or jubilee. I mean BLNR too, but I think BLRO wins.

Thoughts on this trade? BLNR for BLRO

I have to say Rolex did a great job on the MK3 BLRO colors. The previous versions looked a bit purple/pink IMO. Having said that, I prefer the shade of blue on the BLNR.

At this point, I might ask my 3 year old daughter to pick. It's so tough... they are both really nice.

I agree that blue on blnr is better and overall aesthetically looks better to me than the blro. Just my opinion. I think some buy based on hype/history alone, but u need to buy the one that makes u smile more when looking at it. If I could only have one, I choose blnr.

BLRO for the win. Blue/red bezel + jubilee/oyster bracelet just adds more flair amongst the sea of watches out there

It's a good deal since the BLRO is new nut I would prefer mine on jubilee bracelet

I would personally keep the BLNR, especially since you have one with the 3100 series movement. That's not one I would personally let go of and I think it is likely to become extremely coveted in the future.

Pepsi never smile to me. I had multiple opportunities to purchase it from AD but opt it for other models. I have my BLNR and like it more than BLRO.

I've decided to keep the BLNR.

I wore the BLRO for a day and the colors didn't appeal to me as much as the BLNR does. The BLRO is really nice but when I removed the hype and history of the BLRO from my decision... the BLNR blue is more striking and just feels a bit more special IMO.

Thank you everyone for your input and going down this rabbit hole with me.

Granted I could look this up, but for conversations sake I will just ask a silly question. I thought the BLRO was a PM piece while the BLNR was SS? If the OP is only adding 5k with a BLNR for a new BLRO something tells me I am wrong….or confused….perhaps both.

"Pepsi" has the tradition.

BLNR has the class.

They are both SS. Rolex released the Pepsi on Oyster in 2021.

I see the error of my ways now. The BLRO is available in WG and SS. Two very different reference numbers as well. For some reason I always thought the BLRO was only White Gold. Never knew there was a SS version. Thanks.

I would do it. BLRO on oyster has been an absolute joy. Also you're 100% right in that the new bezel hues blow away the gen 1s (imo). So much more versatile. Do it! You won't regret it :-)

Interesting how close the poll numbers are ( 111 voted BLRO; 101 voted BLNR )

Just for kicks... Do you guys think the BLRO or BLNR would be more collectible in 15 years from now?

The blue pops, especially in the sunlight. The bright blue is the perfect application for ceramic. The BLNR isn't trying to replicate the past. It's an original 21st century GMT Master II.

Very true!

Someone pointed out to me to me that if you put a modern BLRO next to a pepsi soda can... none of the colors are there. lol

Nonetheless, I do prefer the darker shades on the mk3 blro bezel compared to previous versions.

I personally think the particular BLNR you have will probably be much more coveted in the future than the BLNR currently being produced.
